Insomniac Games Unveils New Marvel Wolverine Game During PlayStation Showcase 2021

It turns out that Spider-Man isn't the only Marvel superhero grabbing the attention of Insomniac Games. During the latest PlayStation Showcase, Insomniac announced two big announcements. One was Spider-Man 2, which will feature Venom as the main character, but the second is a brand new adventure starring Wolverine himself. 

Not much has been said about the upcoming game, other than that it exists, but we understood what tone it would be. Wolverine has never been the most "requested" character, and Insomniac seems to want to fix that in the first teaser for their upcoming game. Take a look at the video at the bottom of this article to get your first taste of Insomniac's continued adventure in a Marvel setting. 

We don't have a release date at this time, it's just a small teaser of what the teams at Insomniac are working on, but it's interesting to see the studio expand even more in the Marvel world. With so many superhero adventures on the horizon from a wide variety of developers, this is a great time to be a comic book fan, and an even better time to be part of the Marvel family. 

According to the latest post in PlayStation Blog on the announcement, "Marvel's Wolverine is a standalone game directed by Brian Horton (Creative Director) and Cameron Christian (Game Director), who recently led creative efforts on Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a game we're very proud of at Insomniac . In the spirit of our Spider-Man games, our goal is not only to respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular, but also to look for opportunities to make him fresh, which truly reflects the spirit of Insomniac. Even though Marvel's Wolverine is in a very early stage of development, from what I've seen of its emotional storytelling and cutting-edge gameplay, the team is already building something really special."
