Researchers Show What The Hands And Fingers Of Gamers Of The Future Will Be Like
A team of experts showed what the hands of gamers can become if everything in the world of video games develops according to today's scenario.
The scientific group presented their research in a video that demonstrates a 3D model of human hands in 50 years, when the hands can fully adapt to holding a game controller. According to the researchers, the index and middle fingers will greatly lengthen, while the ring fingers, on the contrary, will narrow and decrease.
Keyboard surfing will also be simplified, because with such fingers you can reach almost any key.
Simon Cornelius, managing director of gaming agency Cornelius Creative, notes that "gamepads as they exist are ergonomically designed, but some games require more buttons to improve the immersive experience," but also "Manufacturers have a responsibility to develop controllers that reduce the impact on our physiology."
Smartphones and gamepads continue to grow, and so does the number of buttons on controllers. This means that the fingers, especially the thumb, index and middle fingers, are doing more work and should be stretched and become more "grasping".
