Rebalancing Valorant Agents for 2022

At the end of 2021, the developers (Riot Games) shared their plans for changing Valorant agents in 2022.

RESULTS OF THE YEAR: AGENTS

Just imagine: already an hour after the release of a new agent, you together play more for him than we do for all long months of internal tests.

When Yoru came out, he was taken in almost every match, although some of you were a little disappointed with him (check out the article about the upcoming Yoru update!). Astra with her ability to control the map proved to be very useful in a team game. KAY / O suppressed all enemies in its path, and changes in pricing policy in patch 3.0 significantly influenced the popularity of various agents and weapons. Updated Viper shook up the meta and took a strong position on maps like Icebox and Breeze. And for Breach began to play frequently on Fracture.

A sharpshooter has recently joined the squad Chamber, whose element is to hold dots. We've seen a lot of players with different playstyles who, once playing Chamber, become a full-time choice. His unique role in the squad is now being defined, and we can't wait to see how he performs in professional matches next year.

You get used to the changes and come up with incredible new tactics. It is thanks to you that VALORANT evolves. We have a lot of new things planned for 2022, but it is already clear that you will amaze us with your ingenuity more than once 🙂

BALANCE CHANGES IN EARLY 2022

Since patch 3.0, the balance of agents has not been given as much attention as in previous episodes. But in 2022 everything will change! In recent months, we have carefully reviewed the organization of the workflow, changed the composition of some teams, set priorities and accepted many new employees into our ranks.

What does this mean for you? That there are many more balance changes expected in 2022! In the first six months, we plan to update a number of agents, and problems that require urgent action will be resolved much faster than in 2021. I won’t say anything more yet - you will learn more details closer to the release of updates. Follow the news!

I don’t know if this has become a tradition or not, but I’m sure that many of you immediately began to read this article from the end in order to quickly find out about future updates. I hope we all meet next year rested and ready for any challenges. At the beginning of 2022, we will add an agent to the game, which will be difficult for the rest of the squad members to keep up. Or maybe his appearance in some sense even defuse the situation. (Or vice versa.)

But before that, we will go on a winter vacation to rest and gain strength for the next year.
