Jump Force closes next year

Jump Force turns off. The manga-style crossover fighting game released in February 2019 will be removed from digital stores from February, and online services will be shut down next August.

"We will stop selling the full game, DLC and virtual currency for PlayStation 4 / Xbox One / PC Jump Force and Nintendo Switch Jump Force Deluxe Edition on February 2, 2022." written by Bandai Namco . “In addition, the service will end on August 25, 2022. Thanks again for your support and understanding."

Offline play will still be available, but with the shutdown of the Jump Force servers, multiplayer lobbies, online events, clan features, leaderboards, bulletin boards, reward counters, the in-game store, and online ranked matches will cease to function, leaving behind the simple shell of the game.

Jump Force was Bandai Namco's love letter to everyone's favorite anime, bringing them all together into one fighting game with a subtle story and even simpler combat mechanics. Characters from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Bleach, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Fist of the North Star, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, My Hero Academia, Yu Yu Hakusho and many more could fight each other, and finally answer the question which anime superhero is cooler.

Think of it like the anime version of Smash Bros. Note that One Punch Man was never invited.

Initial sales for Jump Force seemed good, but reviews were mediocre, and even a year-long chain of new DLC characters failed to keep players interested. Bandai Namco must have calculated everything and realized that disabling Jump Force is more beneficial than continuing to support the game with more DLC.

However, shutting down servers and removing Jump Force from the digital storefront in just three years doesn't look like someone who bought the game will get their money back. Yet again, no one on twitter seems to be upset the impending demise of Jump Force, so perhaps the game is indeed dead.
