If you're racing through Lakeshore City in Need for Speed Unbound, you will need to know how to drift. This is one of the most important aspects of the game, and if you want to get through the tracks faster, being able to fly into a turn without slowing down or going into a ditch is key.
In Need for Speed Unbound, you can choose between three styles to start your drifting. When your style is to drive the car into a controlled skid, you can use Brake & Throttle, Brake Only or Gas Only, all of which have their uses and positive aspects.
Regardless of how you choose to drift, knowing how and when to drive through Need for Speed Unbound is essential.
Methods drifting in Need for Speed Unbound
If you have never drifted before, it is highly recommended to go through the tutorial to learn the ins and outs of controlled drifting. This is also recommended if you are new to skid braking. You need to apply the handbrake during corner entry to get the car into a side slide.
However, the brake must not be held for too long! This will reduce your momentum and slow your car down instead of maintaining speed. It takes practice, but you'll get the hang of it in no time. You also need to keep an eye on the slip angle of your car during the skid. You can fly off the track and end up behind without following the trajectory.
You can also use throttle for drifting in Need for Speed Unbound. Just press the throttle to slide while turning. This gives more control and less speed reduction when cornering.
