How to defeat Godric the Hundred-handed boss in Elden Ring

Godric the hundred-handed (Godrick the Grafted) is the boss in Elden Ring. Godric the hundred-handed is the ruler of Stormvale Castle and the final boss of this area. You don't need to fight Godric first to advance to the next area Elden Ring, and instead you can meet him in the later part of the game.

Godric the Hundred-Handed is the ruler of Stormvale Castle, wielding a large golden axe. He has grafted many hands on his body, a symbol of power for all those who might try to overthrow him.

Location of Godrick the Grafted boss in Elden Ring

Godric is relatively easy to find if you follow the game's main storyline. Just make your way through Stormvale Castle until you reach a misty gate guarded by a giant troll and two exile knights.

There is a Place of Grace in a secluded chamber on the right, outside of Godric's arena. So, make sure you heal and gain strength before heading to face him.

How to beat Godrick the Grafted boss in Elden Ring

NPC support: You can summon the friendly NPC Nepheli to fight Godric at your side. Her Challenge Sign can be found right outside the Fog Gate, and she can be a useful ally.

Her damage isn't great, but she'll get half of Godric's attention, allowing you to land a few hits. boss. You can also call the Spirit into battle, this will make the fight easier.

To summon Nephelia, you first need to find her and listen to her dialogue. She can be found in a room by the road outside of Godric's arena, where the path curves towards him.

Summoning Nefeli is completely optional, but we recommend talking to her even if you don't summon her to continue her quest line.

How to defeat Godric the hundred-armed:

boss attackDescriptionAction
Jump attackLeaps forward in the air and pierces the ground with his axes.Rollback or sideways
Attack with 5 hitsUses both axes and swings at you from right to left, alternating his attacks.Roll back or sideways. Note that this combo has some pauses between attacks.

Luckily, Godric isn't as complex as Margit because he doesn't have that character's speed. However, he is still incredibly aggressive and strong and can kill even the most experienced player in just a couple of hits.

In the first phase of the fight, Godric will swing his ax furiously, leaving small holes for him to dodge before you need to dodge. After his combo, he will turn his ax vertically into the ground and it will take him a few seconds to recover. So hit him with everything you have and then get out of there.

His ax swing is deadly and covers a lot of ground, so melee fighters will need to stay on their feet. Ranged fighters just need to keep their distance and attack him from afar. Don't let him get close, as hitting his combo will most likely spell death.

Godric the hundred-handed

Godric grafts the dragon and absorbs its power.

The second stage

In the second phase of the boss fight, Godric will grab a dead dragon and inherit the ability to breathe fire. These attacks deal serious AOE fire damage, so if you have any equipment that provides anti-fire buffs, now is the time to equip them. Or before the fight starts ideally.

It is extremely important to avoid this dragon fire as it can kill weaker players and has a ridiculous range. So stay mobile and dodge when you can. When you deal enough damage to Godric, he will stagger and you can move on to a critical attack.
