How to Get a Friend Bow and Level Up Recruits in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX
If some Pokémon simply refuse to join your team in Mystery Dungeon DX for Nintendo Switch, you'll probably need to find a Friend Bow to increase your recruiting speed - here's how you can do it.
DX is a modern daytime remake of the 2005 Team Red & Blue Rescue for the Game Boy Advance, released on March 6 by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company. While it's a reimagining of an old title, it boasts a host of new features such as autosave, megaevolutions, and auto mode for an enhanced experience.
However, what is returned is that you can recruit different monsters to your team. While some will join you easily, others can give you more trouble - especially strong opponents and legendary characters like Mew. However, having a Bow on hand can greatly increase your chances, and we're here to tell you how to find it.
How to get Friend Bow
First of all, players will need to complete the main campaign before being able to access the item, which is very unfortunate for those who want to recruit certain monsters to make the story missions easier.
Once this is done, there are several ways to get the bow. One of them is in Buried Relic, a 99-story dungeon that only opens after completing the stormy sea and getting to know Kyogre.
Once you have beaten regirock and made your way to the top, you will find it lying on the ground among other rewards such as Deluxe Boxes that can only be opened upon returning to your camp.
If this number of floors seems tedious, this is not the only dungeon that offers it at the end. According to Pokemon YouTuber Echo the Lombax, this item can be found on the 20th floor of Sun Cave, along with some other treasures.
It was also said that you can find the Bow on the 30th floor of the mountain. Far after you defeated Ho-Oh and visited the dungeon again, but this has not been 100% confirmed. You could do this in Game Boy Advance games, but it's unclear if this carries over to the Switch version.
Having the rare qualities 'Squad Up' and 'Friendly' will also help increase recruitment speed, so combining these items with an item gives you the best chance of volunteering Pokémon for your team.
Even though you can't get the item until after you've completed the story, having these Qualities will help boost your stat regardless, so it's worth having anyway.
It should also be noted that the Bow also helps in adding a shiny Pokemon to your team..
