As we mentioned earlier, frost fragments и frost crystals are part of Act I"Prince Mela and the Dragon" , and these two things needed to complete it. To find these items, you must eliminate the enemies in the Dragonspine area and only there, because traveling outside the region to other areas, such as Mondstadt and Li Yue, you will not receive these materials.
Since there are two different types of new items, this means that Frost Fragments are the most common item of the two. It follows that you can kill normal enemies in Dragonspine to have them drop Fragments, although remember that this is a random occurrence so you may have to kill a lot. It was the simplest of the two above.
However, frost crystals are a different matter, as they are the rarer of the two required items as they are described as fallen under special circumstances . This may mean that you need to kill larger enemies, perhaps in the monster's habitat or kill them during a snowstorm so that they drop crystals, which is a special and deadly circumstance.
This makes it difficult to get crystals, as being in a snowstorm without preparation, you can easily die due to the new effect "severe frost". A new blue indicator appears above the health bar when you accumulate Frost; when it reaches its maximum, your XP will start to deplete, and when it reaches zero, your character will unfortunately will die .
Make sure you're ready before you step into the blizzard to kill enemies that drop frost crystals. You can get ready by inviting add a pyro character to your team or by leveling up permafrost trees.
If you're lucky, it might even be scarlet quartz in this area, and by breaking it and collecting the material, you will receive a buff that will help reduce the accumulation of the fierce frost.
