Quicksilver Storm Catalyst Guide for Destiny 2 Lightfall (2023)
1) How to get Quicksilver Storm
As mentioned, Quicksilver Storm is only available through Lightfall and the Annual Pass. Once the purchase is made, the Exotic Automatic Rifle will be available at Rahul's store in the Tower. The catalyst mission will be available as soon as the automatic rifle is added to your library.
Quicksilver Storm has a unique perk that can land rocket shots after multiple hits on enemies. After accumulating enough rocket projectile shots, an alternate fire mode can be granted by turning this automatic rifle into a grenade launcher for a short period.
Applying additional Catalysts to this Kinetic Exotic Auto Rifle will change its damage type to Strand, creating balls of grenade kills.
2) How to purchase a catalyst
The Catalyst can be picked up from the holoprojector near the Strider's Gate waypoint. Quest "In a storm, any data port is good"consists of three stages: players must defeat enemies using their grenade abilities, automatic rifles, or any grenade launcher.
Using an Arc Grenade with pushes or a Void Grenade build on Warlocks can quickly jump to this step in an exotic quest. Players can even build this passively by completing the Lightfall campaign. The second step will ask you to speak to the Banshee in the Tower, who will provide you with the final step.
The ultimate goal requires you to defeat a total of 50 enemies in Neomun using the weapon's alternate fire mode. As mentioned, firing at enemies will accumulate a buff called Grenades Ready. After pressing the reload button, the weapon will switch to grenade launcher mode.
After defeating 50 enemies using only Grenade Launchers in Neomun, your Quicksilver Storm will acquire a Catalyst. Now all you have to do is get 700 kills to master the weapon. This can be done at the Shuro Chi Checkpoint or the Mining Cave Checkpoint in the Greed's Grip dungeon.
3) How to use Quicksilver Storm?
After applying the Destiny 2 Catalyst in Quicksilver Storm, the Exotic Auto Rifle can easily create tangles with its grenade rounds. This can then be synergized with multiple Strand fragments, making it one of the most viable weapons with a new subclass.
