How to unlock Osteo Striga exotic in The Witch Queen Destiny 2
If you don't have the Witch Queen Deluxe Edition, you'll have to wait to pick up the new Osteo Striga Exotic SMG in Destiny 2.
There has been some confusion about how to get Osteo Striga's Destiny 2, depending on which version of Witch Queen you bought. However, the Savathȗn starring expansion is finally here, and with it comes a new campaign, higher difficulty, and the welcome addition of weapon crafting. It also offers new exotics that you can unlock relatively quickly, but there's a catch.
The thing is, in order to get Osteo Strig, you must have bought the Witch Queen Deluxe Edition, which, along with the exotic SMG and its catalyst and decoration, gives you access to the current upcoming seasons, 5 XNUMX-year dungeons, and the exotic Sparrow. If you didn't go for it, you'll need to wait at least until the end of the current one, which ends in May, and even then it's unknown when or if it will appear in the wider loot pool. The same thing happened with No Time To Explain, which ended up being a Beyond Light exclusive.
So, if you're a Deluxe Edition owner, here's how to get the Osteo Striga, as well as the Ruinous and Neutral Element you need to craft it.
Destiny 2 Osteo Striga: How to get it
To get the new exotic SMG - assuming you own the Deluxe Edition - you will need to complete the campaign Witch Queen, either on Classic or the new Legendary difficulty. Once you've done that, check the Triumphs tab and go to Patterns and Catalysts to unlock the template needed to create an Osteo Striga. Then head to the Enclave in the Throneworld of Savathun and approach the Relic. You should see exotics in the SMG menu.
You'll need various resources to craft it - more on those below - but once you've got them, you'll be able to create an Osteo Striga and unlock its inner trait: Screaming Swarm "fires a stream of sentient, toxic projectiles that track the targeted enemy" .
To get the Osteo Striga Catalyst, you just need to level up your newly crafted Exotic to level 10, which is what you do by simply getting kills. Once you've done that, return to the Enclave to reach the full potential of Osteo Striga.
How to get a neutral element in Destiny 2
To create Osteo Striga you will need the following components:
- 7 Resonant Alloy
- 15 blinks
- 2,375 Neutral element
- 1 Ascendant Alloy
- 70 Destructive Element
You should only have enough materials to complete the new story missions - a requirement to unlock the Osteo Striga template - but resources like the Neutral Element will spawn a lot when it comes to weapon crafting in general.
The best way to get neutral elements is to use the Deepsight Resonance weapon. They have a red border around them in your character menu. Each of them has a "Settings Progress" panel, which is paid for by general use. Once this bar is full, you will receive 200 Neutral Items.
