guide

Despite the state of the world in 2020, Geoff Keighley is still preparing a special night for the gaming community. While there won't be a crowd this time and the developers won't take the stage to collect their rewards, there's still a grand spectacle to look forward to.

The Game Awards is one of the biggest events of the year and many publishers are using the spotlight to announce their upcoming projects. From new games to exciting DLC trailers and everything else, the expectations for this show are always sky high.

This year's event is no different. What's more, it's also one of the best opportunities to reflect on all the accomplishments of the past 12 months. Here's a full look at The Game Awards 2020, including the schedule, announcements so far, and how you can tune in.

Streams Game Awards 2020

As usual, The Game Awards will be played in a big way. It will be featured not only on typical streaming services like Twitch and YouTube, but also on over 35 different platforms. From Twitter to direct embedding into Steam itself, there are plenty of ways to tune in.

In addition to the original broadcasts, content creators can also participate in the co-streaming of the event. This means that all of the biggest streamers can tune into their own communities.

We've built in some easy options for you below, some of which boast 4K streaming options for the sharpest picture possible.

Game Awards 2020 Schedule

This year's event should begin at a time that suits everyone around the world. If you don't want to miss the moment, make sure you arrive early. Pre-Show starts 10 December at 15:00 pm PT | 18:00 pm ET | 23:00 GMT | 10:00 AM AEDT (December 11).

This year's Game Awards is still being held digitally.

In fact, The Game Awards is, obviously, first of all, an award. While groundbreaking announcements can easily grab everyone's attention, the show's main purpose is to highlight the efforts of the world's most talented developers every year.

In particular, the Game of the Year award is extremely competitive. You have six blockbuster titles in this category, with dozens of others up for various awards. From the best music to the best indie games and more.

Announcements The Game Awards 2020

Although nothing much has been said so far, rumors are circulating, as they do every year. Will we finally get to see new footage of Elden Ring? What about GTA 6? Some predictions are much more likely than others, although we can already make a few assumptions based on early discoveries.

For example, we know that both Tom Holland and Nolan North will appear throughout the show. The face and voice of Nathan Drake, respectively, will surely not appear unless they have something to share with the world. If we had to play it safe, The Game Awards would give us the first snippet of the upcoming Uncharted movie.

In addition, we have several other names for awards. Everyone will appear, from Stephen A. Smith to Brie Larson. Though it's safe to assume they'll just be announcing some of the winners rather than breaking the main gaming industry news.

The only confirmed fact that we can talk about is that Bioware will show a new look at next the game Dragon Age . Stay tuned for updates as we get closer to the big show.
