For many, this was a huge pain as it only had to remove other games for a small update to Warzone, which means you're essentially locked into a Battle Royale game or the main Modern Warfare game. But it shouldn't be.

Unfortunately, the solution on PS4 is a bit longer than on Xbox. It's easy enough, but you may have to set aside some time for it.

To remove Campaign and Spec Ops on PS4 and leave only multiplayer and/or Warzone, you need to delete the entire game from the console , and then reinstall only the parts you want to keep (e.g. Multiplayer and Warzone). It's not perfect, but it should at least save you some much needed gigabytes.

When reinstalling, you will be able to select the components that you do not want to keep.

Uninstalling Campaign and Spec Ops on Xbox One is a bit easier and doesn't require a full reinstall. Here's what you need to do:

Hover over the Modern Warfare icon on your Xbox, but DO NOT launch it
Press the menu button to open a list of options
Hover your mouse over any part you want to remove and press the Menu button.
Select "Delete" in any mode you want to delete.

Obviously, if you're not entirely sure about something, hold on to it just in case, but anything related to Campaign or Spec Ops can be removed and will save a serious amount of space.

There's no word yet on whether or not only multiplayer or Warzone can be left for PC players, but people are clearly desperate to do so given how big the files are, so hopefully Sony or Activision will only let players download exactly what they want. .
