How to reduce the size of Genshin Impact taken up on PC and mobile devices
Genshin Impact became a massively popular game last year, and its rise in popularity has made it harder to install. With the release of new content in each update, the file size of the game increases significantly. This is why many players are facing storage issues.
The article looks at some of the best ways to scale down Genshin Impact across platforms such as PC and mobile.
Reduce Genshin Impact file size by deleting voice files
The most effective method to reduce the size of Genshin Impact is to remove the extra voice packs that the game automatically receives.
miHoYo allows players to play the game in multiple languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
Not surprisingly, each voice pack takes up a significant amount of space. In the three countries of Teyvat, countless NPCs and over thirty playable characters have their own unique voice lines, and even quests have plenty of dialogue.
The Genshin Impact audio package contains nearly 4 GB of data. Hence, players can delete unwanted voice files to gain extra space on their devices.
How to delete voice packs in Genshin Impact
Visit the settings in the game and select the language option. In the lower right corner, you will see an option called "Manage Voice Transmission Files".
The Manage voice files option displays all voice packages that have been downloaded so far. Delete unwanted audio files from this menu.
While voiceover file sizes vary by language, players can at least clear 4GB of data from Genshin Impact using this method. It is worth noting that the method for deleting voice packs is the same on mobile devices and PCs.
The last island of Inazuma, named Tsurumi, arrived in Genshin Impact with update 2.2. With the upcoming patches, players can look forward to new regions like Sumeru, which will further increase the size of the game.
