Fortnite Chapter 3 is bringing vaults back to the island, and some creative players have figured out that you can open them solo by tricking the scanner.

The Fortnite map has received a huge overhaul, but one of the most important additions is the highly sought-after vaults, which are full of amazing loot. It turns out that one player has discovered a new trick to unlock the vault doors, and you won't believe it - chickens are involved.

To unlock these vaults of all powerful things, you must gather every member of your team in front of them and let the scanner slowly scan you all.

One player, who was either playing alone or obviously couldn't wait for his fellow-criminals, decided to take a stroll on the wild side and bring a feathered friend to the party instead.

Lifting the poor little creature overhead in a Lion King-inspired pose, the gates of the vault swung open, classifying the chicken as a player.

Not only is this a pretty neat sneak peek, but it has also generated quite a bit of backlash from the battle royale community.

"I want to know what was going on in your head when you thought of this: 'Hmm, I wonder if a chicken can open a vault' and make it really work," joked one, while another replied, "Scientific minds sometimes come to crazy conclusions that need to be tested."

So, the next time you're stuck solo or one of your teammates decides he'll be running on his own and won't open the vault with you; grab a chicken! These little dudes are the key to the massive metal door!
