The choice of who you decide to sell to Lady Hellbender affects whether you can negotiate with her in chapter four.
If you tried to sell the Rocket, negotiations will automatically end , and she will laugh at your attempt to deceive her into selling a small forest animal, and then hell will begin.
If you choose Groot, you will be successful in whatever options you choose, but you can get away with more money by making the right decisions, as the amount is completely dialogue-bound.
