How to Enable Nvidia Reflex in Apex Legends

guide

As of October 12, Apex Legends has added support for Nvidia Reflex, which allows for better and faster response to button presses and reduces latency. Here's what you need to know about this feature, including how to turn it on and off.

guide

Nvidia Reflex is now slowly but surely expanding into the gaming industry. Although the tech company has announced that a limited number of games will use Reflex, there are still games originally promised without the latency reduction feature.

Respawn Entertainment and Nvidia have announced that the popular battle royale game Apex Legends is finally getting Reflex after it was originally announced back in September 2020. But what is Reflex and how do I turn it on or off? Fortunately, the company responded to this question.

What is Nvidia Reflex?

Simply put, Nvidia Reflex is a technology that reduces the delay between the moment a button is pressed and the moment an action appears on the screen. This time delay is due to a number of different factors, but the lower the delay, the better. There is nothing worse than missing a headshot due to latency, and this technology solves that problem, or at least reduces it drastically.

Currently, games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone already support Reflex, so it's great to see this technology finding its way into other games.

How to enable/disable Nvidia Reflex?

According to an Nvidia blog post, Reflex is enabled by default in Apex Legends. This means that if you want to automatically start using this feature, you don't have to do anything.

However, you can turn it off at some point. If you do, you can follow the steps below to turn it on and off.

  1. Open the Origin Launcher
  2. Go to my game library
  3. Find Apex Legends and right click the game.
  4. Select game properties
  5. Go to the Advanced Launch Options tab.
  6. + gfx_nvnUseLowLatency 0 to disable NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency
  7. + gfx_nvnUseLowLatency 1 to enable NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency
  8. Click Save

As previously stated, this feature is currently only available in a select number of games, so we hope Nvidia will add it to more games in the near future.
