What Hardware do Fortnite Pro Players Have: Headsets, Monitors, Keyboards and More

Popular Fortnite settings aggregator "Fortnitesettings" polled over 120 pros, streamers, and pro Battle Royale players to find their most popular sets for devices such as headsets, monitors, keyboards, and mice.

For players looking to improve their PC skills, using professional gaming equipment can help. While this won't necessarily make them better in the game, it's probably just a step in the right direction.

Those using a $5 keyboard and mouse combo may be head and shoulders behind, and probably don't realize just how much better peripherals can improve their gaming experience.

For example, using the right headset will unlock directional audio, which will help you discern where enemy footsteps are coming from, much better than regular speakers or a TV.

Anyone in the market for new equipment can benefit from knowing what is the best of best use, so this poll may be useful.

What mice and keyboards do professionals use?

Surprisingly, Finalmouse Air58 Ninja is the most popular mouse among professionals, despite its extremely limited availability. This mouse prides itself on being incredibly light, making it easy to move around with minimal drag.

The second option is wireless, which would have been dizzying many years ago, but in 2020, wireless options are actually a decent choice. Being free of holds is a pleasant feeling and may be the main reason why many pros ditch the line.

Keyboards are always important and user choice comes down to personal preference. Many gamers will agree that a mechanical keyboard will be the most useful since it will be faster to type on than other options. The most popular choice is the SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL with 19%, while the Logitech G Pro comes in second with 13%.

What about headsets and monitors?

In comparison, gamers seem to be pretty much divided on which headset is the best with the ASTRO Gaming A40 outperforming them, but it's primarily down to the HyperX Cloud II with only 12% of the votes. The most important piece of advice to take is that any headset is better than regular speakers.

According to a survey, 72% of Fortnite pros use a 240Hz monitor, which delivers the smoothest framerate possible and gives you an edge over other players. It appears that a high refresh rate and low input lag make the most difference for top gamers. While the 4K image is pleasing to the eye, it won't make much of a difference with a competitive title like Fortnite.

Also, the most commonly used is the SteelSeries QcK mouse pad, but this is likely to be the lowest priority for those on the market with new accessories.

With the knowledge of what the pros prefer, it may now be easier to compete at the top level.
