Fortnite Map Changes After Winterfest Ends
The Fortnite Winterfest event has ended and we're already seeing map changes as a result.
Following the conclusion of the Winterfest, the Fortnite map began to experience changes in weather patterns as the snow began to melt in different areas of the map.
During the entire event, the entire Chapter 2 map was covered in snow, and although we are still in January, the island has come to a thaw.
Instead of everything disappearing at once, the snow slowly melts, starting first from the Nectar Basin.
Further, the snow cover partially left Pleasant Park, and completely melted in Careless Beach, Giant Cooling Towers, Weeping Grove and Dirty Dock. Apparently, the snow will not stay for long, as the process has already begun and is moving by leaps and bounds.
Epic Games always has something in their pocket when it comes to bringing something new to the game, so there's no reason to lose hope.
Map changes happened much less frequently in Chapter 2, but they did happen. Updates for Fortnite itself have also slowed down considerably since Chapter 2, but much of that may have been due to the holidays, when many employees take a break.
I believe we can get a feel for the specific pace that the developers will follow once Chapter 2 enters its second season.
To end the season, Epic Games usually prepares some kind of event, and we expect this tradition to remain unchanged.
Perhaps we can start implementing this plan when all this snow has melted. Something has to fill the void, so why wait?
