Killjoy Valorant: How to play? Abilities, tips and recommendations.
Killjoy is one of the most unique Valorant agents.
It focuses on deployable gadgets rather than instant abilities that help during firefights. She is extremely strong, once you block a site, she can be even more effective at retakes thanks to her ult.
Although some of her abilities may seem overpowering at first, she is a well-rounded character that fits perfectly into the gameplay. Here is a detailed review of the Guardian so you can use her arsenal while taking down the enemy team.
Killjoy was the 12th agent added to Valorant.
Killjoy Abilities:
The Killjoy kit is designed to help you scout and repel enemy attacks, making her literally the perfect Guardian. Just like her defensive counterpart, Cypher, the goal here is to unravel the enemy's plans and stop them.
Ability 1 — Hive (200 credits) : Selects the Hive grenade. Press the FIRE button to throw a grenade. After landing, the grenade is masked. ACTIVATE Hive to unleash a swarm of damaging Nanobots.
Ability 2 - Alarmbot (200 credits) : Selects a disguised Spiderbot. Press the FIRE button to release the bot, which will attack enemies within its range. Upon reaching the target, the bot explodes, dealing damage and leaving enemies vulnerable. HOLD the skill button to recall the bot.
Ability 3 - Turret (Is free) : Selects a turret. Press the FIRE button to deploy a turret that automatically tracks enemies in a 180-degree arc. HOLD the skill button to recall the turret.
Ultimate - Block (7 pts) — Selects the blocking field generator. Press the FIRE button to set the generator. Delays all enemies within range. Opponents can disable the generator.
The most important thing in the Killjoy set is the turrets. The charming yet deadly turret layout is all it takes if you want to suck the power out of the enemy team.
Killjoy's Ultimate is clearly a game changer. Despite the fact that her block has a rather long period, she obliges opponents to leave the area of its effect, quite far. This can help in case of holding a plant with a spike in place, but be aware that opponents can destroy the generator.
Killjoy turrets are cute but deadly.
How to play as Killjoy:
One of the most important aspects of playing Killjoy is understanding that she is a slow agent. You can't just drop a Sentry Gun or Alert Bot anywhere and expect them to regenerate immediately. . Her set is characterized by a long cooldown, which means you have to really spend some time on the training ground to really understand her. Due to the tactical placement of her turret, enemies can be spotted without even looking at them, but it's important to remember that the tiny weapon will deactivate when you step outside a 40m radius.
It's the same with her Alarm Bot, so if you're relying on them to place traps around your lot, you'll need to be nearby or they'll become useless. This is especially in demand after Episode 3, given that Killjoy now has a 20 second cooldown when replacing their robots after they've been recalled.
The other main takeaway is to make sure that you coordinate yourself. Through the strategic use of her hive grenade and her alarmbot, enemies can fall in the blink of an eye. While grenades have been nerfed a bit, they are still deadly. Throw them on the spike while the enemy is trying to disable, it's very useful and ideally even a kill or two.
Here's how to play Killjoy in Valorant and use her abilities to take down hordes of enemies. Want to brush up on your skills? Then immediately go to the training ground!
