When will cross progression appear in Rainbow Six Siege?

Rainbow Six Siege players will be able to enjoy cross-progress in the coming months following the long rollout of the highly anticipated feature.
Cross Progress in Rainbow Six: Siege has been a major topic of discussion since the game's release. While it is currently available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, each platform retains its own account progress.
This means that if you make the switch from Xbox to PlayStation for next-gen consoles, or switch completely from console to PC, you'll have to start over. No more elite skins, no full Operative roster - you're right back to square one.
However, the situation is changing, and in 2022, cross-progress will finally appear.
When will cross progression appear in Rainbow Six Siege?
Cross-progress, as described by Ubisoft, "allows you to play a game on one platform and continue your progress on another, as long as your Ubisoft account is linked to the target platform."
The initial cross progression was launched on June 30, 2021 and allows owners to PC, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna transfer progress. Console Cross Progression, linking Xbox and PlayStation to PC for the first time, was due to launch in early 2022.
However, in the 7th year roadmap update, this update was rescheduled to end of 2022probably as part Y7S4.
This means that all of your operatives, profile progress, and cosmetics will likely carry over across platforms. However, things like rank stats and progress will be culled.
“We have to be very careful about how we do this because Siege is a live game. It's like changing the wheels of a car when we're driving down the highway," explained Guillaume Gad, Associate Producer of Rainbow Six, at Ubisoft Forward 2021.
"We have a lot of work to do on the UI and the technical side to make sure all the different environments we have can come together into one so we can support crossplay and crossprogress."
Crossplay will launch at the same time as CrossProgress, but this is also a phased approach.
Will Rainbow Six Mobile have cross-progression with Siege?
Since Rainbow Six Mobile will be announced in April 2022, there are questions surrounding how closely it ties into PC and the Siege console.
Without crossplay on maps, it's unlikely that cross progression will ever be a thing. Considering the roster of operatives is completely different and Ubisoft is giving it a standalone release, don't expect to port your cosmetics and other items from handheld to PC and console.
