Season 4 of Fortnite is expected to kick off after summer ends, but what's in store for next season? Here's everything we know at the moment.
After weeks of waiting, Season 17 of Fortnite Chapter 2 kicked off on June XNUMX, taking the Top Secret theme from Season XNUMX and changing it to Splash Down. As predicted by leaks, the map is flooded with water, and all of its topics are devoted to working with water and waves.
The final season is almost coming to an end, and as always, Fortnite fans want to know what's next. The simple answer is season 4, but what will that entail? Here's everything we know at the moment.
When will Fortnite Chapter 4 season 2 start?
The end date for the Fortnite Splash Down themed season has been set for Thursday, August 27, according to Hypex. This means that the season should last 71 days - a significantly shorter time compared to previous seasons.
As a result, the fourth season starts by the end of August. Initial leaks claimed that the current season could be extended beyond the developers' time limit. Although the recent lawsuit seems to have nipped that in the bud.

Will Fortnite Chapter 2 season XNUMX be renewed?
On June 18, reliable insider "iFireMonkey" pointed out that in addition to the weekly challenges already set for Season 3, there are additional challenge sets in the game files that point to the expansion.
As such, the current season could be extended until around September 3rd, one week after the intended end date. These additional sets of challenges are nothing new - many seasons of Fortnite have used overtime challenges in the past.

However, a new lawsuit, filed on August 17th, seems to completely disprove this theory. While the source files may have been prepared for a season extension just in case, Epic seems to have fully confirmed the August 4 season 27 release date amidst litigation with Apple .
What will be the theme of the fourth season of Fortnite Chapter 2?
As Season 3 draws to a close, we don't have many clues as to Season 4's theme. These teasers usually appear at the very end of any season, so be on the lookout for the next few weeks.
As the current season progressed, the water levels dropped again, giving way to a fairly regular pattern. From here Epic there was an interesting layout for work. Although it is unknown how all this will lead to the next big seasonal update.
Places like the Water Tower and Floating Headquarters are more than likely to be heading towards the exit with the start of Season 4 - while other more recent additions to the map are likely to stay there for a bit longer.
