TV series " Fantastic Beasts » is different from the films about Harry Potter , but both are based on books written by writer J.K. Rowling and set in the same magical universe.
After the release of the first film in 2016 with a mediocre box office - at least nothing like the original series about Harry Potter - there were some doubts whether we will actually see all five promised films.
Looks like Warner Brothers is in it for the long haul: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3 come out next year. This breaks the two-year film release cycle we've seen so far between installments, but it's partly due to the delay in filming due to current events.
Fantastic Beasts 3 release date
Some time after the release of the second film, there were rumors that we would see the premiere of the third part sometime in 2020, after the same two-year release cycle as the first two.
Warner Brothers previously confirmed that Fantastic Beasts 3 will be released November 12 2021 years , with filming beginning during the spring of 2020. Star Dan Fogler said in interview that the studio made the change because they needed "more time in prep."
However, in November 2020 this was pushed back to July 15, 2022 , according to the report Variety , the schedule change came just days after Johnny Depp said he was asked to leave the film.
Depp apparently ended up filming only one scene for Beasts 3, but will still get an eight-figure contract for the role of Gellert Grindelwald. When Warner Brother will announce its replacement remains to be seen.

Eddie Redmayne will return as Newt Scamander, an English wizard and author of " Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them . Dan Fogler will apparently return as the Polish-born wizard Jakob Kowalski, while Katherine Waterston will also return as Porpentina Goldstein.
It wouldn't be a story in the Harry Potter universe without Dumbledore, and Jude Law is confirmed to be reprising his role as a much younger version of the legendary Headmaster of Hogwarts.
As we mentioned, Johnny Depp will not be returning as the main villain Gellert Grindelwald after Warner Brothers asked him to leave the franchise. It remains to be seen who will replace him, but considering he only filmed one scene before leaving Beasts 3, it's likely we won't see him at all.
What will Fantastic Beasts 3 be about?
While we'll have to wait before any solid plot details come out, JK Rowling revealed on Twitter that it's set in 1930s Rio de Janeiro. The author also noted earlier that all five films cover the period up to 1945, when the last of them takes place.
While an average movie in the series, we didn't expect to see any climactic battles between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, but the cast's adventures through the city and beaches of Rio sound like a truly "fantastic" setting.
