When will Left 4 Dead 3 be released? Rumors, Leaks and Release Date
Left 4 Dead 3 is the sequel to the popular game that zombie fans have been demanding for a long time. it's been over 10 years since the last release in the Valve series. When will we receive it? Here's everything we know.
Valve hasn't commented on the arrival of a zombie survival game, and it's no surprise that the fan base is hungry for any hints of news.
She is dead? Is the title alive? With no official word or confirmation of any kind for over a decade, players have taken matters into their own hands and unearthed all sorts of rumors and "leaks" regarding L4D3.
When will Left 4 Dead 3 be released?
The first part in the series was released on November 17, 2008, and its continuation appeared exactly a year later, on November 17, 2009. Many fans hoped that the release of the third part of the game would take place around the same date in 2010, but it never came out.
In an interview with a video game news outlet Eurogamer in 2012 by L4D Chet Falishekappeared to have hinted at the possibility of a sequel and stated that it would happen "in a while" - though no time frame was given.
Faliszek eventually left Valve in 2017 and later founded the company Stray Bombay. Since 2012, there have been no other official hints for Part 3 - although there have been many unofficial rumors.
If L4D3 does exist, it seems unlikely at this point that it will be released on current generation consoles at the end of the development cycle.
Both of its predecessors came to PC and Xbox 360, which means that if the game is released on a console, it will likely be an Xbox Series X exclusive and not available on PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch.
Series X doesn't have a set date yet, but it should be released between October and the end of December 2020, which means that if Part 3 is indeed planned, it could come out after the new console officially launches.
Where will the action take place in L4D3?
In 2019 year Tyler McVicker shared a number of screenshots believed to have been taken during the early development of Part 3, which was later scrapped. The photos show a desert environment that looked like the game would take you to some Middle Eastern country.
In 2013 year Moby Franke, a concept artist working on the franchise, uploaded a series of images to his personal website after he stopped working on Valve. In them, two men could be seen holding weapons and dressed as residents of Iraq or a similar country.
Putting these images together, the idea of a sequel taking place in another country doesn't seem so far-fetched - if that's to be believed, of course.
To further add fuel to the fire, references to L4D3 were found in the issue Aperture Robot Repair 2015 of the year in the Steam database along with a series of game textures.
This is important because the files were for different faces and items of clothing, which specifically corresponded to the concept of Franke 2013 year.
While this may be a coincidence, the fact that the textures are nearly identical to the garments drawn two years earlier is suggestive.
Will Left 4 Dead 3 support VR?
Rumors that zombies have become virtual reality first surfaced in 2016 when Tyler McVicker from the Valve News Network YouTube channel discovered potential game assets in a testing tool HTC Vive.
The material included several assets, including a new enemy named The Nocturnal, along with an unnamed male character, and a day and night cycle.
Despite this, the source material found in the test was never officially considered.

December 8, 2019 same Tyler McVicker tweeted that L4D3 will indeed support virtual reality.
His "leak" is quite interesting considering that he also said that on "The Game Awards 2019» Latest news about Half-Life: Alyx — and this is what really happened!
«Left 4 Dead VR - this is real. More information coming in a few days, with the latest news on Half-Life Alyx,” he tweeted. "Get your mind ready, it's about to explode."

Left 4 Dead VR is real.
The game awards is in a few days, with new Half-Life Alyx news.
Get your minds ready, it's about to blow.
A month after that, on January 17, the president of HTC Alvin Van Graylin Tweeted several slides from his Golden V presentation in China, with one of the "2020 VR Trends" proving to be quite interesting - "L4D3 and Half-Life: Alyx will stimulate consumers and AAA studio interest," the post reads.
After fans got excited, the Vice Chairman of the Virtual Reality Industry Alliance stated that these are "personal speculation only" and that "all predictions are mine and not [HTC's] official opinion."
Valve also released a statement for IGN and said they were "absolutely" not developing L4D3. “We briefly explored some of the features of the next generation of Left 4 Dead a few years ago. But we're absolutely not working on anything related to L4D right now, and haven't been in years,” he said, “what is this, a gimmick?

Whether Left 4 Dead 3 is real or not, it's hard to deny that it was once in development, especially since Valve released this statement to IGN.
However, this is not the first time the developers have tried to confuse people by trying to hide the game, so some fans definitely do not rule out that one day the title will come out.
