Starfield console commands: all game cheats

Do you want to use console commands Starfieldto enable cheats in this Bethesda space RPG? Using these codes, you can activate the god mode, which provides the character's invulnerability to any type of damage. Also, with the help of these cheats, you can get endless money, purchase all available spaceships in the galaxy. Additional abilities include walking through walls, instantly leveling up, increasing carrying capacity, and adding a variety of items to your inventory, such as lockpicks and ammo.

More good news: If you've played a Bethesda RPG like Skyrim or Fallout 4 and used console commands to cheat, many Starfield console commands are identical and work exactly the same.

A warningA: Using console commands can sometimes cause crashes, freezes, and other issues, so please save your game before experimenting with them.

Spoiler alert: One of the console commands reveals an aspect of Starfield that you might not want to know about until you experience it in game for yourself. I left this at the very bottom of the list, but proceed with caution.

How to use Starfield console commands

To use the console in Starfield, press the tilde key (~). The game will pause and the console will open in the bottom half of the screen. You'll get warning that using console commands will disable achievements and you will need to hit the tilde again to close the console, then press OK or E to clear the warning. The warning only appears the first time you open the console in a session, and you won't see it again until you restart the game.

Press the tilde again to open the console again and you can enter the codes below. Press enter after each code and press tilde to close the console again when you're done.

Most Useful Starfield Console Commands

Below is a longer list of console commands, but here are a few that are particularly useful, such as god mode and Starfield money cheat. Some of these codes turn on and off, so entering them once will activate them, and entering them again will deactivate them.

In the case of some of the commands below, you will see brackets and a number sign, such as this:

player.addition 0000000f [#]

When entering these codes, do not use brackets and replace the sign of the number with a number. For example, you need to enter the following:

player.additem 0000000F 25

Below you will find a larger list of Starfield console commands. We will add to this list in the future as more console commands are found. Swipe to scroll horizontally

player.additem 0000000f 25

tgmEnables God Mode, which makes you invulnerable, gives you infinite stamina, and allows you to carry weight.
tclToggles the collision mode, allowing you to pass through walls and rise into the air.
orTurn AI on and off: NPCs will stop in place and do nothing at all.
player.additem 0000000f [#]Adds credits in the specified amount. For example, player.additem 0000000f 1000 gives you 1000 credits.
player.additem 0000000a [#]Adds digital keys (lockpicks). For example, player.additem 0000000a 5 will add five digital keys.
player.setav carryweight[#]Set the maximum carrying weight to the specified value.
player.setlevel[#]Upgrade your level to the indicated level. For example, player.setlevel 10 will instantly boost you to level 10.

How to find product identification codes

Since Starfield first launched, we do not have a list of item codes that allow you to craft certain items and add them to your inventory. Until we do that, you can find product codes in the console by following these steps.

  1. Open the console with the tilde key (~)
  2. Type "help" (without quotes) followed by the element name or part of the element name
  3. For example, if you want to find the ammo code for .43 ultramag, type "help ultramag" (without quotes)
  4. The console will return all codes associated with the word ultramag
  5. Look for the line that says "AMMO: (002B5599) .43 Ultramag"
  6. 002B5599 is the ID of the Ultramag ammo
  7. Typing "player.additem 002B5599 100" (without quotes) will add 100 .43 ultramag rounds to your inventory
