Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine from Resident Evil join Fortnite
Like the zombie horde in Resident Evil, Fortnite continues to absorb characters from various franchises. Boulder-fighting Chris Redfield and Nemesis-suppressing Jill Valentine, both stars of the original Resident Evil and multiple sequels, are officially joining the Fortnite battle royale universe, along with new cosmetic items taken straight from the survival horror series.
Watch the trailer below to see Chris and Jill.
How to get Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine in Fortnite
Like previous crossovers in Fortnite, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine are available in packs or as separate purchases. Chris' alternate style is based on his appearance in Resident Evil Village while Jill wears his outfit from the Resident Evil 3 remake.
In addition to the skins, there are also bonus items such as the Green Grass Back Bling, which also comes in red and blue. Unfortunately, it doesn't heal you like a real Resident Evil item. Jill will show off on her back Typewriter.
The Save button lets you drag and drop the infamous Resident Evil Typewriter to save games. Then there's the pickaxe hot dogger, based on the Resident Evil 3 knife that sets zombies on fire with every hit. Finally we have a pickaxe stun gun, which we saw in such parts of the game as RE4, RE5 and RE6.
Epic also adds some kind of emote called "Walk under an umbrella". Even with my decent knowledge of Resident Evil lore, I'm stumped. Does Umbrella have a special corporate outing?
