WHAT WILL BE AVAILABLE WHEN THE OPEN BETA AVAILABLE?
Let's take a look at some of the features you'll be able to play with when the game goes into beta!
Ranked Mode
The rating system is in! It will have some similarities to League of Legends, you can earn LP to increase your rank. You will be able to climb up the divisions and get achievements from Iron to Master. Once you reach a level in the ranking, it will stay with you until the end of the season. This means that you can do some experiments when you reach this level because you don't have to worry about losing it.
New social panel
Riot aims to bring the social dimension back to card games with a new social bar. You will be able to challenge any of your in-game friends that have already been added to your League of Legends friends list!
Don't pay to win!
A big part of what Riot is trying to do with this card game is get rid of the feeling of having to buy a bunch of decks to compete. They look primarily at monetizing cosmetics like the board, emotes, and little legends that you can choose to represent you on the board. This is obviously a huge difference from more popular games like MTG: Arena and Hearthstone, which pretty much require you to buy packs to stay competitive.
New postcards
Over the next 12 months, they plan to bring new sets to the game from some regions of Runeterra! New champions should be included in the game to represent the region of the new expansions.
