Twitch Legends: Team Ninja Win First Apex Legends Tournament

tournament

Ninja, the 2018 video game influencer and Fortnite champion, has just added another big win to his resume. Joining NRG Esports players Dizzy and KingRichard for the first Twitch Rivals Apex Legends tournament, the three-man team (calling themselves "Kings Canyon" after the in-game map) scored an impressive victory. Apex Legends launched just over a week ago, and is already being hailed as the best battle royale, one of the best free-to-play games ever released, and the game that held onto Electronic Arts' latest financial results. Apex Legends even outpaces Fortnite's growth when it first launched and went free-to-play with over 25 million players already.

During its launch days, publisher Electronic Arts and developer Respawn Entertainment sponsored most of the top streamers for the game as "Apex Partners," and as the hype continued through the first week, it was built into Apex Legends' first Twitch-sponsored tournament. as part of the Twitch Rivals series. The two-part competition began on February 12, 2019 at 14:00 PM PT and ran for four hours, during which players played as many games as possible in a four-hour time frame.

Twitch rivals - Apex Legends rules:

Each event includes 16 squads of three players. They will compete to earn the most points, with five points awarded for each win in a match and one point awarded for each kill.

The next tournament will take place at the same time next week on February 19th. While Ninja is a big name, it was KingRichard who got Ninja on the team and Dizzy who led the team to victory. He ran solo around the map playing Wraith, winning countless 1v3s, making it easy. Dizzy had the most kills in the tournament and the best part... it was his very first tournament. As for the ninja, he remains the battle royale of the team.
