Lilia 149 League of Legends Champion - Abilities, Builds, Runes, Tips

Lilia comes with League of Legends Patch 10.15 as Runeterra's 149th Champion. Ahead of the release of Bashful Bloom on July 22nd, get the chance to master it with our Lillia guide, from the runes you need to the best builds so you can win your first game.

Lily is first new league champion с since Sett's release in January 2020 . Even though since then there have been several modifications , Lillia's release marks the first new "battlemage" since Swain was remade a couple of seasons ago, and she'll thrive not only in the jungle, but as a solo player as well.

Before you jump onto Summoner's Reef with her for the first time, get to know Lilia a little more with our guide. With all the best runes, builds, tips and tricks up your sleeve, you should be able to lock in your first win with Bashful Bloom with ease.

Lily

What are Lily's abilities?

Lilia's kit makes her one of the few melee mages in the League of Legends. She excels at both burst and sustained DPS at close range, and thrives with hints of mobility scattered throughout her kit. As she rides in and out of fights, she only gets stronger, making her the ultimate battle mage.

Passive: Dream-Laden Bough

Lily's skills inflict Dream Dust, dealing maximum health magic damage over three seconds. This damage is reduced against monsters in the jungle, but has no cooldown - so if you keep hitting camps or champions with your abilities, the passive will always be active.

While a small percentage of max health damage is good, it's nothing compared to the strength of the passive when her ult is activated. After all, these two go hand in hand.

Q: Blooming Blows

Lily's Q has both a liability and an asset. The passive gives Lilia movement speed each time she hits an enemy, stacking up to five times. She loses those stacks after a few seconds.

The asset is a mixture of Q Hecarim and Darius. Lilia spins her censer, dealing AOE damage. However, you'll want to hit enemies with the tip of the ability, as it will deal true damage instead of magic damage. This will be Lilia's main DPS ability and also the best way to use your passive.

W: Watch Out! Eep!

Lily's W is a short-barreled trait combined with an AOE burst. She dashes forward a short distance, dealing damage in a small area. If she hits an enemy with the center of the explosion, it deals much more damage. This will be Lilia's main capture tool, as well as a finisher after her enemies fall asleep.

E: Swirlseed

Practically global abilities on regular cooldown? Well, that's what Lily's E is, Swirlseed. She throws a projectile that will keep moving until it hits an enemy or terrain. It will also show the area it will land in and slow down any enemy.

R: Lilting Lullaby

It sucks when one of the allies gets hit by Zoe's bubble, but what about all five? Enter the Lily Any champion with a stack of Passive Dreams placed will become sleepy for 1,5 seconds no matter where they are on the map. After that, they will fall asleep and take additional damage if they are awakened by Lilia or her allies.

Her ult can turn the tide of a fight and can help create some pretty huge combos if she gets her enemies into a group. However, if you don't take extra damage after sleeping, you will immediately feel restless.

The best runes for Lily

Lily is all about spoilage. Her kit is not suitable for just fighting tanks. You want to charge in and out of battle, and your runes must match. To achieve this goal, there are two reliable keys: Dark Harvest and Phase Rush.

Dark Harvest - More keystone-focused damage. Rune of Domination will only get stronger as the game progresses and is easy to stack thanks to the amount of AOE damage it has in its set. Join him with Taste of Blood and Ravenous Hunter and you'll have tons of sustain to live through even the toughest situations.

Phase Rush only adds to Lilia's mobility. If you're struggling to keep up with your enemies, or need to make a quick escape, you should be able to gather Phase Rush and get away easily. If you're playing jungle, it's best to use Waterwalking for extra movement speed in the river. The Nimbus Cloak is also a must.

If none of these tickle your fancy, there's always the Arcane Comet or Electrocute. Both options heavily impact damage, but the late game lacks the Dark Harvest ability or the Phase Rush utility.

runes

As for the minors, the Precision tree is a solid case with Presence of Mind, Legend: Tenacity, and Legend: Fortitude. However, if you run a Sorcery Keystone, don't be afraid to grab Taste of Blood and Ravenous Hunter if you prefer that. Grab one adaptive, one attack speed, and the best defensive shard choice and you're all set.

The best build for Lilia

Lily was designed with the jungle in mind. This means you will need to build the jungle item no - no ifs or buts. Picking up Chilling Smite with Runic Echoes is your best bet to keep enemies in range with a slow blue blast, while also maximizing AP damage. You will also want to buy Wizard shoes in most situations for magical penetration.

If you choose to take the Lilia on your own, there are several options. Luden's Echo is good if you're struggling with mana issues and want passive damage. However, it's probably better to run the old faithful duo - Liandri's Torment and Rylai's Crystal Scepter.

Liandry's is one of the most cost effective items in the game, especially if you like taking on long quests like Lillia. The increase in damage over time is not something you can ignore. Paired with slow Rylai, this is the best duet.

If you get these items second and third, or first and second, you'll be in a good place to tailor your late game build. Need more resistance? Grab Zhonya's Hourglass, Banshee's Veil, or even Dead Man's Plate. Want more damage? Void Staff and Deathcap of Rabadon are your best bets.

If you're feeling a little greedy, take an early Dark Seal and turn it into a Medjai Soul Hunter if the situation calls for it. The extra movement speed in 10 stacks on Lilia is very good. The Morellonomicon is also a good late game pickup if you need healing reduction, as Lilia can easily apply it with her Q.

Most mage items pair very well with the Lily set, so there are plenty of options for every situation. However, follow the rule of thumb above and you'll be fine.

How to play Lily

Lily can be played in the jungle or in a solitary lane. This makes it suitable for two completely different playstyles. Lily Jungle is all about energy farming until you reach level six and get a runic echo. After that, your dream ganks are some of the strongest in the game.

Lilia can't take targets like other jungles, so you won't be able to kill Olaf early on without losing your life. You also need to be mindful of enemies invading you L - Lily is very fragile early on and doesn't have a reliable escape tool outside of her passive Q. While Lily's W won't help you get over the terrain

In almost all circumstances, you'll want to increase Q, then W, then E. The extra burst damage on your W helps to nuke enemies to your maximum advantage than the E utility can give you after the first rank.

In the lane, it's all about running into and out of the wave while trying to keep your opponent on your enemy at all times. It's like playing Darius - the more work your passive has in the lane, the harder it is for your enemies to get on the wave. If your jungler gets ganked, slowing down with your E is the key to level six, that's your only CC.

Keeping your Q stacks is also key. Lilia's Q is her best tool for kiting during fights, with high movement speeds. If you lose bonuses, you will be much more vulnerable. As a Battle Mage, Lilia will be one of your team's main sources of damage, so survival is key. If you can break the enemy host and escape with your life, you've done your job.

Lillia will be released in the League of Legends 10.15 update, which is expected to be released on July 22.
