Lineage W will not be a Pay2Win game. NCSoft promises improvement
We recently wrote about the critical situation of Blade & Soul 2 in South Korea, where NCSoft's aggressive monetization caused the game huge losses.
Paradoxically... this is very good news for all future NCSoft work, including the long-awaited Lineage W. After this painful lesson, Koreans should be more careful in building a business model that is not as aggressive as in this case.
And guess what? NCSoft did exactly what we mentioned earlier.
During the last conference it was promised that Lineage W will not receive any "aggressive" elements that could be considered Pay2Win.
Lineage W will run out of XP, dedicated MTX slots (whatever that means), and other subscription-based features. In addition, we will also be able to receive paid items through the regular game (for free).
I guarantee you that as long as Lineage W is running, the game will not release any features like Einhasad's Blessing or anything that even remotely resembles this system. We give you our word that while the game is running, systems such as the emblem, guardian stars, and spirit inscription systems will not be part of Lineage W.
Today I promise that we will no longer make business decisions that are inconvenient for players as a way to manage the risks associated with the operation of the game.
Lineage W will premiere in two parts. On November 4, Asia and the Middle East will enter the game, and in a few weeks - Europe and America.
