LoL Clash - Release Date, How to Play, Rewards and More

After almost two years of beta testing, Clash is finally ready for a full launch in League of Legends, and we have all the information you need to start playing this weekend at the end of February.

After years of development, Clash will finally become a regular League game mode in February. Feedback from the December beta for the tournament system has been positive, and with server load issues, the feature is now ready for the full release.

However, there have been some changes to how Clash will launch between the beta and its full launch. All teams will now play three games regardless of record.

In addition, more features will be gradually added over time, including the ability to switch to event modes and Teamfight Tactics.

If you'd like to take part in the Clash weekend at the end of February, we've got all the information you need to sign up and start earning some nice prizes.

What is Clash?

Clash is an in-game tournament system for League of Legends where players can form their own teams and enter tournaments to win rewards.

There are three sizes of Clash tournaments - four, eight and 16 team tournaments. So far, each Clash event has been run with eight teams per relegation, although this should change when the full launch of the Clash comes out.

When will Clash be released in League?

The full release of Clash will take place on February 22 and 23, according to a message from the League of Legends account on February 4.

Whether this will be a one-time promotion, or whether players will finally get a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly tournament schedule remains unclear.

“We plan to launch Clash on a regular basis,” said LoL design director Andrei “Meddler” van Roon in a forum post on 31 January . “We are still figuring out the exact frequency we want to go with.

“We want to make sure the break between Clash weekends isn't too long. We also want to avoid hosting tournaments so often that the potential player base is split over too many different days.”

How to play Clash

To get started with Clash, you first need to assemble a team of five people. Once the Clash tab reappears in the client, click on it and click the "Create Team" button at the bottom of the page.

From there, you will be able to invite anyone from your friends list to your team. As long as you have five players, when the Clash brackets start to open on both days, you will be able to play. Each player must also enter at least one Clash ticket to play.

Once you have assembled your team, paid the entry fee and opened the brackets, you can register and prepare. After registering, you will be queued for a build based on your level.

League of Legends Clash Brackets
Parentheses will work differently depending on their size.

Then it's a matter of getting your grid and playing. You will have seven minutes before each game to scout the enemy team before moving on to champion selection.

If you win, you will advance further into the bracket, and if you lose, you will enter the loser's tournament.

Once you've played all your games, you'll receive your rewards and be able to register for the next tournament.

What rewards are offered for Clash?

Players participating in the Clash will receive a Clash Orb or Capsule depending on how many tickets they enter, regardless of their placement.

One Clash ticket entitles players to the Clash Orb, which contains smaller rewards such as random summoner badges, XP boosts, and skin shards.

Entering with five tickets unlocks the Clash Capsule, which is filled with lots of rewards like champions, gems, and more. The higher your place, the better you will receive a reward.

Clash League of Legends Rewards
Clash
Clash offers a lot of goodies.

If you manage to take first place in your bracket, you will be refunded your entry fee, allowing you to run it into the next tournament for free. You'll also earn victory points that go toward unlocking banners to flaunt on your profile.

Clash returns February 22. Registrations are not yet open, but they should be available when patch 10.3 comes out on February 5th .
