LoL: Riven Patch 9.19 Changes Reverted!
Controversial changes to Riven in the League of Legends Worlds 2019 update aka Patch 9.19 have been scrapped following community backlash.
Riven was set to do a massive overhaul of his kit in patch 9.19 in initial notes prepared by League Lead Gameplay Designer Mark "Scruffy" Yetter. The initial changes were to give her the ultimate, Blade of the Exile, significant buff.
The changes were not well received by the community, and were reverted just a few days later. However, Riven will still be getting some tweaks in future patches just before Worlds 2019, albeit with a relaxed set of changes.
Scruffy tweeted a full preview of the patch on September 16, stating that "a few changes" had been made to his original roster earlier in the week.
Instead of her ultimate's increased base damage and more AD scaling on her W, ki Burst, Riven will be getting cooldown changes for her Q and E.
Her Q, Broken Wings, will now have a 13 second cooldown at all ranks, up from 12 seconds in patch 9.18.
To compensate for this slight nerf, here Valor has its cooldown reduced from 14 seconds to 12 seconds at rank one and from 10 seconds to eight at rank five.
9.19 Patch Preview Updated. A few changes and Panth, Annie, Aatrox added. Not 100% locked down but getting closer.

This makes Riven much more viable than before, given the significant buff at rank five.
None of Riven's damage numbers or base stats have been changed, which should give the community some peace of mind regarding a champion getting polished right before the biggest event of the year.
