Best Heroes of Might & Magic (HoMM) Style Games for IOS and Android

Heores of Might and Magic III is one of the best games ever made in my opinion. Of course, I'm biased because I grew up playing HoMM games - especially the third part, with all its expansions and unofficial mods (WoG for life!).
It's hard for any game to achieve popularity and complexity in Heroes of Might and Magic 3, or to a lesser extent in other series, but fortunately, some developers have tried. And now, more than 20 years after the launch of the greatest game in the series, it's time to see what alternatives we have on mobile.
So today I'm sharing the list top games like Heroes of Might & Magic for iOS and Android . Don't expect any of these titles to be exactly like the HoMM series, but expect a similar experience. And, fortunately, there are quite a few of them - both free and paid.
So let's not waste time and instead check best games similar to HoMM for mobile devices !
Might & Magic Heroes: Era of Chaos
A game recently released by Ubisoft in their quest to reinvent Heroes 3 for mobile devices. While there are some elements that remind us of the classic game, many are different.
In fact, we had a lot of fun playing the game, and while comparing it to the amazing effect of HoMM3 is pretty hard, the game itself is good and can fill that gap and the need for Heroes you can feel.
The Banner Saga 1 and 2
The first two games in the Banner Saga franchise, available both for mobile devices, are similarly different from Heroes of Might and Magic. No castles or treasure chests, no map exploration on horseback, and no fantasy creatures to bring to your army, but equally satisfying and beautiful.
It is the series' turn-based combat system that ranks at the top of this list, as well as its overall high quality. So while the first impression is that The Banner Saga games have little - if anything - to do with the HoMM franchise, I still think you should try them out and be surprised at how good they are!

King's Bounty Legions
King's Bounty, created by Nival, is the franchise that most closely resembles the classic Heroes of Might and Magic games. There are several games available for PC in the series, but only one of them is available for mobile devices: King's Bounty Legions. Probably the least impressive for those who prefer premium games, but still charming and really good.
It's truly a free game, but it takes all the depth of King's Bounty premium games - and especially the creatures and combat system - and offers them in an extremely polished, highly addictive product. You will have to assemble your army and fight against hordes of enemies, using spells and making difficult tactical decisions in a matter similar to the original HoMM games. Highly recommended!
Dungeon & Heroes
Another free game similar to HoMM, at least when it comes to exploring the map. Unfortunately, this is the only thing he has in common - so there is no deep turn-based combat. But at least you have a choice, and this piece of research is sure to evoke some sweet nostalgia.

Lords of discord
Created by Herocraft, this is another solid alternative to Heroes of Might and Magic. The game focuses on combat the most and plays very similar to King's Bounty Legions. It lacks a bit of complexity and variety, but overall it remains a good alternative and a good game.

Little lords of twilight
A really interesting game that thankfully loomed on most people's radars when it should have been at the top of the list. Turn-based combat, nice mechanics and gameplay elements to adapt (like day/night mechanics that affect heroes on the battlefield) and more.
Heroes: Forgotten Realm
I would say that this game is in a gray area as many of the visuals are identical to those used in the Heroes of Might and Magic series. But they're probably different enough to deserve a spot on the App Store and Google Play Store, and I'm happy about that.
This is definitely a game of Heroes of Might and Magic. Sure, the troops look different and the graphics are a bit different, but this is the closest you can get without playing the game in the original series.

Heroes 2: The Undead King
Another nice mobile game that is clearly inspired by the original, but doesn't quite look like the game described above, for example. Exploring lands, casting spells, engaging in turn-based combat… you have it all here, and despite the cartoony graphics, this game really offers a deep and challenging experience.

Free Heroes 2
I left this for last because it's not really a game, but an emulator/game engine that allows you to play the original Heroes of Might and Magic 2 on your Android device (yes, it's only available on Android right now).
This means you need the original Heroes of Might and Magic 2 game - and you'll have to copy it to your SD card to make it work, but even if you don't, you can still download the demo. Then I'm sure you can find a copy somewhere! Check out Free Heroes 2 in the store Google Play .
Heroes of Flatlandia
A really solid game that actually offers a lot of value to its players, more like King's Bounty than anything else. However, you will have such a pleasant feeling that you play a little HoMM, so that's good.
You have noble elves, bloodthirsty orcs, brave gnomes or terrible undead led by heroes in this turn-based strategy game where you fight for power and survival. A more recent game than most on our list and definitely worth checking out.

As I said earlier, we have a surprising amount of options. None of these games are as complex and beautiful as Heroes of Might and Magic 3, but some of them are really close. And they should all play, otherwise they wouldn't be on our list! So don't waste your time and give it a try!
