Best Character Classes in Diablo 2: Resurrected

Rating of each Diablo 2 Resurrected class

Want to know everything about Diablo 2 Resurrected classes? This updated version is meant to be a faithful adaptation of the classic RPG with a nice coat of paint and new quality of life improvements. One thing that doesn't change is how stats and skills work for all seven available classes.

From the melee-oriented barbarian to the magic-wielding sorceress, you can choose from a variety of playstyles, even if you've chosen your class. So while you can specialize in throwing spears like an amazon, you can instead imbue arrows with magical effects. Or maybe you want an army of skeletons as a Necromancer? Don't worry, just raise the corpses of your enemies to fight alongside you.

Regardless of which one you've used before, these classes should be familiar to you at a basic level. However, over time, it may happen that you may have forgotten some things. So here's a reminder of the best Diablo 2: Resurrected classes with all the skills and attributes explained.

Here are the best Diablo 2 Resurrected classes:

  • Paladin
  • Enchantress
  • Necromancer
  • Barbarian
  • Druid
  • Amazon
  • Assassin

PALADIN

A paladin can either be a very offensive class that can buff an entire team, or a defensive class that uses auras to give the team resistance to various types of attacks. He also uses magical attacks to damage opponents or heal and buff friends. It has one of the highest health and strength stats and is great for those who want to lean towards a support/tank build.

However, where does he really shine, especially with his the best assembly of Hammerdin. Using a deadly combination of auras, the Paladin's Blessed Hammer skill can strike demons with ease, and his teammates gain all the benefits of auras for their attacks. If Hammerdin isn't to your liking, there are several viable options available, making him the most versatile class in the game.

ENCHANTRESS

With power over ice, lightning, and fire, the Sorceress casts spells that can severely damage opponents, inflict status ailments, and protect against enemy attacks. However, she is the most fragile of all the classes and quite terrible in melee combat, but she makes up for it with her massive mana pool.

The only thing that puts the Paladin above the Sorceress is that the Paladin has abilities that help everyone. On the other hand, the Sorceress does not buff her teammates, but killing monsters is still useful. So if you want to focus on pure DPS, Sorceress is for you (the best build for a sorceress is here).

NECROMANCER

The Necromancer is great at using creepy magic to raise an army of skeletons and other minions to fight for you. But while he may be better known for his many pets, the Necromancer has other spells as well. He can use poison to drain an opponent's life, use bones as ingredients for magic, and even curse enemies with status ailments. He is somewhat weak, but not the weakest of all.

Our selection recommendation best build for Necromancer heavily focused on summoning his army of monsters.

The ability of the Necromancer to distract the enemy is very valuable. The only problem with this strategy is that it can be difficult for your allies in multiplayer to tell enemies from your monsters.

Necromancer Starting Attributes

BARBARIAN

If you prefer to get up close and personal, brandishing your sword or ax while screaming in the face of your enemies, then the Barbarian is for you. Item mastery, insane combat skills, and screaming at the top of your lungs are a big part of your arsenal, but the barbarian's main job is to soak up all the damage and heavily distract so your allies can attack without worrying about damage.

Speaking of the best build of Whirlwind Barbarian , Whirlwind skill combined with combat orders and shout makes this build more tanky in the game. As long as you use Whirlwind in short bursts, you will be able to deal the maximum possible damage. While the barbarian doesn't deal as much damage as a paladin or sorceress, it does provide enough distraction, which is vital for groups playing in multiplayer mode.

Druid in Diablo 2 Resurrected is a hairy class that transforms into animals. They wear a lot of fur.

DRUID

One of two classes first introduced in the Lord of Destruction expansion pack, the Druid specializes in using nature and body modification skills to cut through demons in his path. He can summon the elements to deal damage, transform into a werewolf or werebear to which he can give unique abilities, or simply summon creatures to fight at his side, such as ravens or oak sages. This is a good option for those who want to combine magical melee and ranged combat with medium stats.

We think that best druid build is his DPS-focused Rage Druid build. By channeling his inner beast, he can transform into a monster with many buffs while he is in beast mode. It's also a relatively versatile build with the ability to summon a grizzly bear to help manage swarms of enemies. If you have a sorceress to cast spells or a paladin to keep you healthy, this class can be just as good as a barbarian.

The resurrected Amazon from Diablo 2 holds a spear and a shield in her hands.

AMAZON

Amazons are a versatile class in Diablo 2. They both shoot arrows and either pierce enemies with spears or use them as javelins. In addition, she can imbue her arrows with fire or cold elements and summon potentially infinite arrows with other magical effects.

Because of her versatility, she's a bit harder to use for new players, but her best builds are competitive compared to other classes. If you feel like your next Diablo 2 campaign is going to be a bit of a challenge, then Amazon is a worthy class to try.

The Assassin class in Diablo 2 Resurrected stands by the fire.

Assassin

As the second of two classes first introduced in the Lord of Destruction expansion pack, the Assassin uses a combination of martial arts and death traps to defeat targets. She is also a master of ninja techniques, including fast speed, which allows her to evade enemy detection. She has the most average stats, but she has an impressive stamina that helps her avoid danger.

Unfortunately, she is the hardest class in the game. It's not that best build Assassin Trap  not very good, but her skills require the player to follow many commands and set traps in advance for her to be effective. Even her best build doesn't quite meet the standards of the other classes, as they are simply more efficient. If that doesn't bother you, then you should at least try it for yourself.

Starting Attributes
