Best Crusader Kings 3 Mods for Today
Crusader Kings 3 has been largely designed with modders in mind, Paradox even gave them early access to ensure that a lot of mods are ready to go by the time it launches.
In a week we are already approaching 500 mods in Steam Workshop ranging from tiny cosmetic tweaks to huge overall makeovers. There are already several that everyone should add to their game, which you can download from the links below.
CK3's modding scenes are likely to become extensive, so expect this list to grow with it. We will almost certainly see Game of Thrones mods appear, but I'm really looking forward to the new character models this time around. Characters now look great and evolve dramatically as they gain traits, but they're also probably harder to mod. However, we are already seeing teams creating new costumes, so there is already some progress. In the meantime, here are a few of my favorite mods to get you started.
princes of darkness
Crusader Kings lends itself to any intriguing setting, so the CK2 Game of Thrones mod was a perfect fit. But if you're looking for intrigue, you'll find the same in World of Darkness. Princes of Darkness lets you play as a vampire in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, immortal and thirsty. You can feed on mortals, create new vampires, develop mental and magical abilities, and even create your own undead culture. Based on a CK2 mod, it's already mature enough that it really takes advantage of CK3's religious system where you set the rules and rituals for your vampire society.
Bronze Age: Maryanu
The Total War: Troy saga gave me a real Bronze Age strategy craving, and The Bronze Age: Maryannu is here to help me scratch it. This is a historical complete transformation that takes us back a couple of thousand years to a custom map focused on the Aegean and the Middle East. This means the emergence of new cultures and religions with unique mechanics and innovations to match them. You can rule Egypt like a pharaoh, consult oracles, send chariots into battle, and the team has also started designing new outfits for your characters.
CHARACTER MODIFICATIONS
SarcFa custom line designer
Instead of getting hung up on historical CK3 lineups, you can create your own with the SarcFa client lineup builder. You must start the ruler as usual, and then create a new ruler in the event chain, choosing his gender, traits, culture, religion and skills. You can give them an eye patch or a plague, as well as change their height and body weight. And then when you're done, the old ruler dies, and their ideal heir takes his place. Circle of life!
Hair Salon for Everyone + Hair Salon Full Screen
In CK3's hair salon, you can dress up and cut your lineup, and thanks to the full-screen hair salon, you can now show off your character in all its glory. You can customize their appearance from the drop-down menu, as well as choose their pose and background. The mod also includes a hair salon for everyone, which allows you to change the appearance of anyone, not just your ruler.
Immortality
You have already created an empire, what's next? How about discovering the secret of immortality and bestowing it on others? The Immortality mod gives you a variety of solutions, including granting and removing immortality from you and others, setting your visual age, and healing illnesses and wounds. From there you can start your own religion.
CARD MODIFICATIONS
Broken world
Shattered World was an official CK2 mode, and before that, a CK2 mod that split the map into independent countries. No more kingdoms. Just countless tiny worlds vying for supremacy. The CK3 Shattered World mod does the same and you can again choose how ruined it actually is so you can split everything into duchies rather than counties. It levels the playing field a bit and makes things a lot more unpredictable.
Wonder City 2
Cities of Wonders 2 introduces another type of holding to your counties: the metropolis. It's a hybrid that's half castle, half city, so you can finally get a property that makes you golden and has nice thick walls. The metropolis also has more unique buildings, and depending on who you're playing as, you can start with what's already on the map.
CHIT MODES
Papa Pica's Cheat Menu
If you can't learn to look at lists console commands Crusader Kings 3 and painstakingly type them - who has the time? - then this cheat menu can come in handy. For example, if you want to edit a character, you simply right-click on it and open the cheat menu you are interested in, allowing you to change its characteristics or edit its appearance without any problems. You can also use it to get rich, summon troops, kill characters, and cure all your terrible diseases.
We will update this post soon with new mods that will really be worthy of your attention!
