Messi, Neymar and Pogba officially join Call of Duty as operatives
Call of Duty will officially feature global football stars as operatives in its latest games, Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2 and Warzone Mobile. Three of the most popular football stars, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr and Paul Pogba will take to the battlefield as new characters.
As the rumors gained notoriety in the community, Call of Duty finally confirmed the news. Unsurprisingly, both football fans and CoD fans are excited to see their idols in the game's war-torn environment.

There is no official confirmation as of yet whether Operators will play on their own or appear as skins for existing ones. However, fans can rest assured that they will be able to play as their favorite soccer player in the latest CoD world.
While Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2, and Warzone Mobile will share ecosystems, Operators will be available across all three games at the same time. The release date has not yet been disclosed. However, since Warzone Mobile won't arrive until next year, fans can hope to see these stars in early 2023.
As the franchise dives deep into the world of pop culture and collaborates with movies, TV series, anime and more, the latest crossover is clearly another step forward. Since football is the most popular sport in the world, including its biggest stars in CoD as characters will certainly bring a large audience to the franchise.
Earlier we saw King Kong and Godzilla wreak havoc on Caldera Island. Other crossovers include the iconic movie saga "Terminator", popular anime Attack on Titan, Snoop Dog and more. With new cosmetics and more in-game events, this has been a trend in the franchise in recent years.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 will release on November 16 alongside Warzone 2. Only time will tell if the latest battle royale experience lives up to expectations or not. However, fans can expect plenty of content for the game once it launches.
