How to find amethyst geodes in Minecraft 1.17

Surface

Amethyst geodes can be generated in Y coordinates from 0 to 70 . This means that you can find them on the surface of another world as well. This is good news as they appear quite often in places like:

  • Under water in oceans.
  • Surfaces savanna and desert biomes
  • Found in ravines and caves

You should check these places first before trying to go underground. If you can't find them on the surface, you can check out other underground structures that often intersect with amethyst geodes, such as:

  • Abandoned mines
  • Dungeons with mob spawners
  • Underground ravines and caves
  • Fortresses
  • Underground ruined portals

Finally, you can use soda Minecraft, to get the exact coordinates of the locations of the amethyst geodes on the highlighted world seeds.

Using

Amethyst Geodes are the source of the following Amethyst blocks:

  • smooth basalt
  • Calcite
  • amethyst cluster
  • amethyst bud
  • Amethyst Shard
  • Spyglass
  • Boutonniere amethyst
  • Amethyst block
  • Tinted glass

While smooth basalt and calcite are purely decorative blocks, other amethyst blocks have special and unique functions.

Buds and bunches amethyst emit a low level of light that can be used in dark areas:

  • Small buds give light 1 level
  • average buds give light Level 2
  • Large buds give light 4 level

spyglass , made from amethyst shards and copper ingots, can be used as zoom tool , allowing you to see and explore distant areas from a distance.

Finally, the tinted glass has the ability to block light, which can be used to suppression of light from a glowing stone .

That's all you need to know about how to find and use amethyst geodes in the update. Minecraft 1.17: Caves and Cliffs .
