Minecraft 1.19 1 - Pre-release is live!
Minecraft 1.19 is very close to release now that pre-release 1.19 1 has been announced to be available for you to explore.
Players who have been eagerly awaiting the 1.19 Wild update for Minecraft can breathe a little more air because the pre-release of the next big update has been released. The pre-release is not the full version of the update, but it signals what is essentially the end of any major features that will be added. Pre-releases are mainly for bug fixes, which tells us that a full launch is just around the corner!
As for the changes, here's a look at what they've done as per the official post by Mojang:
- Slightly reduced the number of mangrove trees in mangrove swamps
- Endermen, Skeletons, Wither Skeletons and Piglins now spawn in a wider range of light levels in the Nether (from light level 0 to 11).
- Item interaction vibrations are now emitted when you start or finish "using" an item with a start and end state (e.g. bows, crossbows, goat horns, shields, food)
- Element interaction vibrations are now ignored when sneaking
- Placing non-armor items (e.g. pumpkins and skulls) into the headgear slot now plays the overall gear sound
Apart from these rather minor changes, some technical things have been changed and a couple of in-game events have been added.
- Autocomplete is now available for the template argument to place the template
- Custom servers can now enable or disable chat preview for specific clients by sending a new network packet
- Now chat preview is also shown for chat related commands like /say and /msg
- test-rainbow-chat has been removed from server.properties
- note_block_play with vibration frequency 6
- instrument_play with vibration frequency 15
If you are ready to try out the new version of Minecraft, you just have to head to your Java Launcher and be sure to select the 1.19-pre1 option where you select the installation you want to play. This should be automatically selected if you've already played on the most recent snapshot!
