New trailer for Stalker 2022: Heart of Chornobyl shown at Xbox Games Showcase Extended 2
GSC Game World's trailer revealed at Xbox Games Extended Showcase S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The next installment in the long-awaited Stalker series has been overshadowed by real-life circumstances that forced the development team to push back the game's original release date of December 2022. But this latest trailer is the biggest we've seen in a long time and officially shows what the developers are aiming for. release date in 2023. Stalker 2 will launch on Game Pass on Xbox.
The new trailer is called Enter the Zone, and does not contain any gameplay footage. The trailer appears to be a cinematic that shows a truck driver driving through a dark forest towards a spooky place. Next to the driver in the passenger seat is an unknown container, while in the back of the truck is an unconscious man in a Stalker outfit. A radio transmission between a scientist and another person can be heard in the background, with the scientist talking about the necessary risks. The trailer ends with the mysterious man standing in front of a cluster of levitating rock shards that aim towards a blood red sky.
Stalker 2 had a very difficult development cycle. The last game in the series to be released was Stalker: Call of Pripyat in 2009. Stalker 2 was in development shortly after the release of Call of Pripyat but was quietly canceled in 2012. Stalker 2 officially returned to development until 2018, with GSC Game World aiming for a December 2022 release date.
The Enter the Zone trailer is the first confirmation that the development of Stalker 2 is not slowing down.
