New trailer for Stalker 2022: Heart of Chornobyl shown at Xbox Games Showcase Extended 2

The next installment in the long-awaited Stalker series has been overshadowed by real-life circumstances that forced the development team to push back the game's original release date of December 2022. The new trailer is called Enter the Zone, and does not contain any gameplay footage. A radio transmission between a scientist and another person can be heard in the background, with the scientist talking about the necessary risks. The trailer ends with the mysterious man standing in front of a cluster of levitating rock shards that aim towards a blood red sky.

Stalker 2 had a very difficult development cycle. The last game in the series to be released was Stalker: Call of Pripyat in 2009. Stalker 2 was in development shortly after the release of Call of Pripyat but was quietly canceled in 2012. Stalker 2 officially returned to development until 2018, with GSC Game World aiming for a December 2022 release date.

The Enter the Zone trailer is the first confirmation that the development of Stalker 2 is not slowing down.
