Neymar and AOC Become the Fastest Growing Streamers on Twitch
PSG star Neymar and US Congressman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez soared to the top of the list of fastest growing streamers on streaming platform Twitch for October.
Typically, the fastest growing channels on Twitch are big names like Ninja, Shroud, and Summit1g. While these streamers rank closer to the top of the popularity list, there are a few surprises this October.
Ninja, according to twitchmetrics , is the eighth fastest growing streamer, gathering over 336 new subscribers in the last 000 days. However, this achievement pales in comparison to the top two, which have nearly double the follower growth.
Neymar and AOC take over Twitch
Second on the list is AOC, female- US congresswoman who broke records with her Among Us stream alongside Pokimane, Dr. Lupo, and others. Even before the first tour began, more than 400 viewers entered the channel.
Her Twitch channel, created for the aforementioned Among Us broadcast, has amassed over 673 subscribers. More than half a million of them showed up on the night of her record breaking stream.
However, AOC was ousted from the top spot by Brazilian soccer star Neymar Jr. The Paris Saint-Germain striker has taken to streaming video games, mainly Valve's CS:GO.
It looks like a lot of football fans have followed him on Twitch as he has amassed over 677 followers in the last month, making him the fastest growing Twitch channel in the world.
Loud.gg dominates the top 20 fastest growing Twitch streamers
Far from the top two - incredible growth in the number of streamers with Loud.gg. The Brazilian organization is represented in the top 20 by 10 streamers including Coringa, thurzin, babi and Mii in the top 10.
While they are all streaming and trying their hand at different games, Garenga Free Fire dominates the agenda of most of them. The popularity of mobile battle royale has grown exponentially, becoming the most downloaded mobile game of 2019.
Another notable spot is SouljaBoy, the US rapper has reached 350 followers and is ranked 000th.
It just shows the popularity of video games and the appeal of watching your favorite celebrities' games, regardless of their permanent profession. We're sure there will be just as many surprises on the list next month.
