New World: Musket Guide - Build, Builds, Perks. Complete Class Review.
Musket is a great weapon for both solo leveling and PvP. Here is our guide to the best musket build in New World.
The Musket has already shown that it can be a key part of a strong and reliable PvP or solo build to level up in New World.
This build has a heavy focus on traps and is often paired with a musket and a rapier. They are very useful both in PvP and for dealing with large groups of enemies in various areas of PvE New World, whether it's completing quests or completing expeditions. Here's our rundown of the best musket builds in New World.
The best musket build in New World
The musket, like the bow, is one of the ranged weapons you can use in the New World. Both weapons use Dexterity as their primary attribute, but the Musket also uses Intelligence as a secondary attribute.
Have a musket's weapon New World There are two skill trees: Sniper and Seeker. The first is the increase in raw damage from your shots. The latter, meanwhile, has some features to improve DPS, although it also has crowd control (CT) options.
Sniper
- Power Shot - overloads your musket, so the next shot deals 150% weapon damage.
- Powder Burn - overloads the musket, so the next shot deals 100% weapon damage. It also applies the Burn status effect, which deals 20% weapon damage per second for nine seconds.
- Rack arrow - Allows you to take a squatting stance. You can fire three shots in total, each dealing 100% weapon damage. Reload time is also reduced by 75%.
Recommended active abilities: skills that cause an overload effect do not stack with each other. However, you can use both Power Shot and Powder Burn (interchangeably). You are satisfied only with the first perk Power Shot (Initial Interaction). However, for Powder Burn, you will need both knots (Reverse Pull and Chronic Injury). Ideally, you should also get a Gun Stance with both nodes to reduce the cooldown and increase the number of shots before leaving the stance (five shots instead of three).
Recommended Passive Abilities: most passive skills muskets rely on headshots from correctly fired shots. Critical reload is good if you have a special tank. So you can try to land three headshots to get a free reload. Then use Empowering Headshot to increase Empower (i.e. increase damage). It's also nice to have Shot Resupply (reducing the cooldown of abilities when landing headshots) and Enhanced Precision (a stacking damage buff).
Catcher
- Traps - set the trap for 20 seconds. The target that activates it will be rooted for XNUMX seconds.
- holding force - The musket is reloaded, so the next shot deals 120% weapon damage. The target will also be dropped.
- stickybomb - use this projectile that sticks to everything it comes into contact with. It deals 175% weapon damage to all enemies within a XNUMXm radius.
Recommended Active Abilities: Traps are a terrible ability for PvE. You will not have enough time for a few shots due to the short duration. It's significantly better in PvP, especially if you pick up the Trapped Damage and Scent of Blood nodes. Just pray that your opponent will actually move to the trap instead of dodging it. In terms of stopping power, this is a decent way to get out of a dead end, although you can still skip it. Lastly, the Sticky Bomb combined with the Sticky Slow node is a useful AoE control tool.
Recommended Passive Abilities: Salt on the Wounds and Empowered Weakness should be good options before you get Sticky Bomb. The latter can even help if you can apply the Burn status with the Powder Burn ability.
If you really want to make the most of your musket in New World, you'll need a dedicated tank or melee fighter to accompany you. Passive perks are activated (pun intended) with headshots. It will be difficult for you to give them out constantly if the enemies move randomly. Worse, if they are within melee range, you can't block, which means you need to switch to a melee weapon immediately.
Either way, you'll want the aforementioned abilities from the Sharpshooter tree to boost your damage even further. Meanwhile, a trapper wood stickybomb could be a viable replacement. As for the Traps ability, it's better for PvP than PvE.
