Nila, Joy Incarnate - Abilities, Feats, League of Legends Champion 161 release date
A new champion in League of Legends has been officially announced, and they are a melee laner bot that can provide team-wide buffs. Here's everything we know about Nila, 161 League of Legends champions.
Season 2 of League of Legends kicks off with a glut of championship releases and teasers. First Zeri, then Renata Glask и Bel'Vet - Nile's new non-traditional bot laner has now appeared on the maps.
In a gunslinger role, Neela will be shaking up the meta as one of the few all-melee champions in the game with bot-lane vitality.
Who is Neela, the "mysterious" League champion?
Not much was known about the "mysterious" League of Legends champion, but that changed on June 17th when we finally got to know her name, Neela.
Riot shared quick 10 second teaser on social media showing someone walking on water. Most likely, this is the Nila that we have been waiting for so long, and this is confirmed by the official Facebook account.
Earlier this year Ryan "Reav3" Mireles shared a small fragment regarding the new champion.
He described her as "a very enigmatic, unconventional bot laner that we'll be getting later this year."
A series of hands laid out in an artistic spiral with deep blues and purples. It doesn't have a large Ionic atmosphere, which would be interesting considering there aren't many bot laners from Ionia.
Linked segment starts at 7:55.
On April 18, Reav3 shared new insights into the apparent melee-focused bot laner. The fight in "Oyster Bill's Oyster Shack" showed some of the characteristics that players can expect when a unique shooter joins the rest.
known for its joyful laughter, Neela was described as "a stranger from land of a thousand colors» across the seas from Runeterra. The watery origin of her power was also mentioned in the lore, as she was described as leaving "strange luminous puddles everywhere", creating a fog effect during the battle.
Apart from her laugh, the "sound of splashing water" was a key feature of Neela's character.
This teaser image was released to players in April.
On June 17, Neela received her official introduction with new cinematic and gameplay clips. While her full kit was not revealed in the cinematic, it did show that she would be a fast, mobile gunslinger whose main weapon is a whip made from a glowing, watery substance that connects her to the Demon of Joy.
And finally, Nila's official knowledge and abilities were revealed on June 22.
In her lore, Neela is described as a warrior who "sworn to a legendary order", whose power stems from her connection to "the ancient demon of joy". She is a competent fighter who enhances the abilities of herself and her teammates whenever a buff ability is thrown near her, and her demon bond allows her to access great power, which she uses to "correct mistakes and kill great evil" .
She practices a "strict code of rites and rituals" to keep in touch with this demon, and through these rituals is able to harness the demon's power, which appears in the form of "shimmering, red-hot water" that was seen in her teaser.
Neela's abilities in League of Legends
With Neela's uniform rundown officially released on June 22, League fans can finally get a glimpse of what this watery shooter is capable of. She is the "Bot lane melee" who seems to be the hardest hitter on the team, with her ultimate offering of healing and protection to her entire team, as well as giving her crowd control and damage.
Here's a full breakdown of Neela's official abilities:
- Endless Delight (Passive Skill) - Neela enhances skills that heal and grant shields. If an ally heals or shields Neela, they are also healed or shielded. If a nearby allied champion applies these effects to themselves, they also apply to Nyla. When Neela finishes off an enemy minion, she and the nearest allied champion gain the normal amount of experience plus half the experience they would lose by being nearby.
- Q - Slashing Blade: The Coordinating Staff of Volyn Regional Football Association has actively: Neela strikes in a straight line, dealing damage to all enemies hit. If she hits an enemy, her range and attack speed are briefly increased. In addition, her auto-attacks begin to hit enemies in a cone, dealing additional damage. Passively: When Neela deals damage to champions with basic attacks and skills, she partially ignores the target's armor and heals herself based on the amount of damage. This effect scales with critical strike chance. All of Neela's overhealing turns into a shield.
- W - Shroud of Joy: Neela covers herself in the mist, speeding up briefly. While the effect is active, she takes less magic damage and dodges all auto attacks. Upon touching an allied champion, Neela covers them with mist. The ally receives the same bonuses, but their duration is halved.
- E - Dive: Neela dashes through a target unit, moving a fixed distance and dealing damage to all enemies hit. The Dive can have up to 2 charges. During the Dive, you can use Slashing Blade, causing a wave. After a short delay, Neela deals damage and buffs her auto attacks with [Q].
- R - Apotheosis: Neela unleashes a burst of energy and performs a spinning slash, then pulls the affected enemies towards her. Apotheosis restores Neela's health based on the amount of damage dealt, turning any overhealing into a shield. The effect spreads to nearby allies and scales with critical strike chance.
