No Man's Sky Beyond Free Update Coming This Summer Bringing Full PS VR Support
A major free update for No Man's Sky: Beyond is in the works, coming in Summer 2019 and opening a new chapter in the game's history.
Beyond will be the culmination of several different lines of development. The first component of this project has already been announced recently: No Man's Sky Online. This is a completely revamped multiplayer mode, where players will get a completely new way to explore the world and play together.
Today it's time for the next element of the Beyond: No Man's Sky VR update.
The creators of No Man's Sky love everything science fiction. And virtual reality is straight out of the pages of a sci-fi novel, and it fits perfectly with the action-packed game No Man's Sky.
Imagine how unique it is: to land on a planet that no man has seen before you, and to feel that you are actually there. The entire team has worked tirelessly to ensure that the result is a complete VR game, not just an adaptation of existing content.
Take the joystick, start the engine and take your ship to an uncharted planet, glancing from the cockpit at the views passing below. Take your multitool out of your backpack, tap it to switch to landscape manipulator mode, and carve out whimsical shapes with precision never seen before. In multiplayer mode, wave to non-VR friends, or give five companions with PS VR.
No Man's Sky VR is not a stand-alone mode, but an entire game brought to life in virtual reality. Everything available in No Man's Sky, NEXT or any other expansion is now ready to be immersed in a realistic VR world.
No Man's Sky VR, like the rest of Beyond, will be free for those who already own the game. However, with the release of Beyond, a PS4-exclusive version of the game will also be released for sale in retail stores. The physical version will include the main game, VR support, and all expansions released at that time, including Beyond.
By providing full VR support for free to the millions of people who already play No Man's Sky, with the release of the expansion, it will become perhaps the most widely used VR game in the world. The development team is trying its best to live up to the expectations.
