New Fortnite Arena Stats Reveal Most Popular Weapons in the Game

By tracking the eliminations in the competitive Fortnite Arena playlist, brand new data has revealed the most used weapons in the popular Battle Royale.
While regular play and Team Rumble may differ from the more focused Arena playlist, the new data set has revealed the most requested weapons in Competitive Mode.
With the Fortnite community increasingly outraged by snipers, and with powerful new additions on the horizon, here's a rundown of the most popular weapons in the game today.
Extracting data from "thousands of matches" over the past seven days, Reddit user " Tough Definition » shared collection Statistics NEW for each weapon located currently in the game, and highlighted which gear is used most often.
Shotguns dominate the table, with Tactical and Pump Shotguns sharing 55,5% of all sorties in the Arena playlist.
"Less than 1%" of the graphic consists of niche weapons like the harpoon gun, minigun, pickaxe, etc."
Assault rifles, submachine guns, and rifles combine for 37% of total Arena kills, indicating that along with shotguns, melee combat is the most common in Fortnite.
A bolt-action sniper rifle makes a person more visible on the graph, however, a long-range weapon only has a 1% kill rate.
However, it should be noted that all data collected during this evaluation was obtained from matches on PC only. Console and mobile usage may differ slightly in terms of the most widely used weapons, however the general focus on short range firearms is likely to remain the same across the board.
The developers at Epic Games are obviously keeping an eye on data like this as they balance the game week by week.
Perhaps with melee firefights completely dominating the game at the moment, we will have some potential buffs for long range equipment.
