New Pokémon in Pokemon Sword & Shield - Kabfu, Urshifu, and Calyrex
Game Freak produced one of the most exciting announcements for Pokemon Sword and Shield during the first year of Pokemon Direct. New Legendary Pokémon coming soon to the game.
The developers of the game shocked the world with this presentation during the press conference on January 9th, where they revealed their roadmap for the 2020 downloadable content milestones - and it looks complicated.
Sword and Shield have brand new Season Passes for players, and both will take you on different paths to new locations.
In these new locations, you'll find Pokémon you've never seen before, never seen in or before the Galar region. The first DLC pack is called the Armored Isle, and the second is called the Crown of the Snow Land.
Along with fresh places to explore, as is usually the case, there's a legendary Pokémon waiting for you to be caught, and the first one you're going to be introduced to is called Cubfu.
Kabfu will appear in the "Isle of Armor" expansion. This Pokémon is not native to the Galar region - it came from a very distant land! You will train with Kubfu to improve your skills!
Check them out below.

Here's our first look at Kabfu in Pokémon.
Kubfu is a Fighting-type Pokémon that will eventually evolve into Urshifu, a versatile Pokémon that has many different qualities.
The type of its evolved version will depend on what style it adopts after its evolution. These include the Single Strike style, which will mean the Pokémon is a dark/fighting type, or the Rapid Strike style, which will mean it's a fighting/water type.

Calirex
That's not all from the legendary company's point of view, as an all-new Pokemon will also arrive as part of the second batch of downloadable content this fall - and it's called Calirex.
Calyrex is a legendary Psycho and Grass-type Pokémon. According to its official lore, the Pokémon can "see every past, present and future event", which should be pretty handy in combat. It looks like he can predict everyone's next move, but we'll soon find out if that's the case.
So, here it is! These are the three upcoming Legendary Pokémon.
