New Dota 2 Battle Pass, Great Confluence Event and Five New Heroes
In the new Dota 2 patch, references to the new Battle Pass, The Great Confluence event, and five new heroes were added to the game files. Durana and Fymryn were previously featured in the Dota 2 anime, Puppet Master and Engineer were heroes from Heroes of Newerth, and Vanessa is a character from Artifact.
Rumors about the transfer of heroes to Dota 2 from HoN have been around since 2020, when references to a dozen characters, including Puppet Master, were found in the game files. However, Valve then removed all lines associated with these heroes from the game.
Valve announced that the new Battle Pass will be released later than usual, its structure will be different from last year, and it will not end with the start of The International and will be active after the tournament.
Earlier, a user with the nickname PhoenixIsLife24 shared a screenshot from the main menu of Dota 2, which shows a preview of the Battle Pass dedicated to the upcoming The International 2022. He posted the image on reddit.
The picture shows a block with the cover of the new Battle Pass page in the game menu, as well as a set on Skywrath Mage, which could be one of the rewards for leveling up the Battle Pass levels. However, in the comments, users have determined that this image is a fake. Redditors have noticed that the background of the alleged Battle Pass is taken from the official arcana preview for Queen of Pain. They also discovered that the Skywrath Mage set shown in the screenshot has been on the Steam Workshop for over two years.
