NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Debuts February 25th But No Chance To Buy It!
Manufacturing issues and crypto-currency miners may make it difficult to find an RTX 3060 GPU.
NVIDIA has set a release date GeForce RTX 3060 although waiting won't be the biggest problem. On According to The Verge , the mid-range GPU for $329 will be available at retail stores starting Feb. 25 at 12:00 pm ET. Buy this video card. Unlike RTX 3060 Ti and other higher-end GPUs, there will be no official Founders Edition.
The base 3060 is the spiritual successor to cards like the GTX 1060 and RTX 2060 and brings features like hardware-accelerated ray tracing and DLSS for the first time on a sub-$350 NVIDIA card. It is the slowest GPU in the RTX 30 family to date, with only 3584 CUDA cores, a 192-bit memory interface, and a base clock of 1,32GHz. However, it also has more memory than any of NVIDIA's mainstream GPUs, with 12GB of RAM to be exact - it might be the best choice if you need that big headroom for the sake of raw processing power.
The problem, as you might guess, is finding an RTX 3060 in stock. NVIDIA has been facing GPU shortages for months now due to a surge in cryptocurrency mining and limited demand to the point where it resumed selling cards from many years ago just to have products in stock. Manufacturing is not expected to improve until NVIDIA's fiscal quarter closes at the end of April. If you don't act fast enough, you may have to pay extra for the RTX 3060 (or wait a few weeks) to get one.
