Fortnite Storm Change Discovered After v12.61 Update
Epic Games has made some unannounced changes to Fortnite Storm Circles since the release of the v12.61 update.
In the last Fortnite update 12.61, released on May 26th, fixes issues with aiming with a controller, introduces new challenges, and includes the usual bug fixes that come up frequently in every update.
However, shortly after the release of the new update, some Fortnite players stated that there were other changes that were not included in the latest update description., after they noticed something unusual in the storm's collapsing circles.
The change of the storm is as follows: the first circles are now completely random, with huge differences in size and location, compared to similar patterns they followed.
Fortnite streamer AussieAntics was one of the first to highlight the new safe zones, citing one example where only a corner of the island was safe.
The new circles showed a lot of difference, with some of the early storms holding the entire map as a safe zone, and others where it would cut off most of the map just a few minutes into the match.
Ummm... Can anyone confirm if they changed how zones work...? pic.twitter.com/fsvAyWWoxY

However, this is only the first circle affected by these changes: the following safe zones follow normal patterns, as seen before the patch, when scaled down in the late game.
Other stars Fortnite x2Twins also spotted a bizarre storm, pointing out that it swept the entire map during one of their livestreams in the new patch.
However, while the hidden changes affected public matches, it appears that the new safe zones did not affect competitive play and Arena.
While many theories have been circulating about these hidden changes, one of the more likely ones has been circulated by Ali-A and other Fortnite players who have claimed that it could be Midas and the Doomsday Device that caused the unusual patterns.
Since it was recently announced that the end of the season in Fortnite has been delayed , players will have to wait a bit to see what else this new Aggregate event can bring.
