Information about the upcoming fourth major update 1.4 for Genshin Impact. New characters, bosses, weapons, pets, rears, and more.
Update Genshin impact version 1.4 scheduled for March 17th 2021. Of course, things can go wrong and the release date will change, but according to miHoYo's official communication from the production team, they are trying to organize a consistent update schedule every six weeks.
As of today, we have reliable information about the content of update 1.4 for Genshin Impact. The stream from the developers has died down, and now we just have to sum up what we saw and heard. So, without further ado and smearing, let's move on to parsing new content bit by bit.

New Genshin Impact character

New weapon
In total, 1.4 new weapons are expected in update 5:
3 Bow, 1 Sword, 1 Catalyst.

- 608 ATK, 55.1% Energy Recovery.
Passive: Increases Elemental Mastery by 40.
Ability use (anyone on the team) accumulates marks, up to 4. When the owner of the bow uses an ultimate with all marks, the entire team receives a bonus of 100 elemental mastery and 20% ATK.
CD - 20 seconds to collect marks after the ult.
▫️Sword "Flash"
- Attack 660, MS 55
Skill: Increases all damage by 12%. Taking damage removes this effect for 5 seconds.
▫️Bow "Hunter"
- Attack 565, ATK 27.6%
Skill: when the character is in a team, but not on the field, increases the character's damage by 2% every second, up to 20%. After selecting a character, the buff is reduced by 4% every second after 4 seconds. delays.
▫️Bow "Ode to Blossom"

Skill: after using an elemental skill +16% ATK for 6 seconds.

Subject tasks
Quite a lot of story missions will appear in version 1.4. Dainsleif's story quest introduced a new boss, Herald of the Abyss, but it will only be possible to fight him once.
Luckily, the Herald will become a recurring enemy in future updates. And not only Hydro, but also other elements. We then have something like date quests with multiple endings and a non-linear storyline, as well as four-star rewards. There will be rewards for different endings in the form of achievements with primogems, special dishes, experience books, etc.
This is the first part of the dating quests. In the future, more characters will receive such quests, but for now, only 4 characters have access to them:

In the task, you have to choose dialogue options, and you choose and see which ending you get. Sometimes, if things go badly, you might get a bad ending or not get one at all! Events
Festival of Flowers (Windflowers)
This event consists of three stages that must be completed in order to complete it, and all of them are related to mini-games.
Fall Guys-Esque Mini Games
This will either be a small event or possibly even part of the activities described below. Here, every round, a wheel (drum) will rotate to select the game you will play. The games will include obstacle courses, dodging projectiles, and walking in the dark - a memory game that you should memorize.
At the end of three rounds, the points will be turned into buffs in which you have to fight Pyro Fern. The higher your score, the easier this fight will become.
Accurate shot
The first quest is called Bullseye Balloons. In this mini-game you have to pop the correct balloons within the allotted time. Do not worry; You don't need to have a high-level character with a Bow for this mini-game. You can also compete with others in a cooperative game.

We don't have many details in this mini-game yet, but it can be a kind of rhythm memory game as you have to click on musical notes.
Air diving
In this mini-game you have to fly through rings and other markers. You will have to use a combination of slide and fall to get all the rings on your way down.
Oceanid Event
In this event, you must find Hearts of Pure Water and then use the collected hearts to counter the empowered Oceanid... However, if you manage to defeat the boss and score enough points, you can leave with a new pet. . In the event, we will need to beat the Oceanid himself for a while. You can also co-op.
The best comparison would not be the hypostasis event that the testers compared to, but rather the December event with Cryo Fern.
The event will consume resin, but each player will have 5 free attempts. "Leveling a pet", in theory, will just give these attempts.

Changes in the quality of life

Lowering the World Level
This is an interesting feature: in version 1.4 you can lower the world level. This will help you find more common materials when fighting monsters and will be much easier to download.
This will be incredibly handy if you want to level up new characters, or even get mid-level materials and then use alchemy to turn them into the highest level possible.
However, this only lasts 24 hours; then it will return to normal. We have no idea; if there is a limit on the number of times you can do it, or if it will cost money.
New Boss Herald of the Void
In version 1.4, a new boss will appear! This new enemy is called the Herald of the Abyss and is part of the main quest related to Dainsleaf. This is a very difficult story-driven quest as we get a preview of the Travelers' Doppelgänger in the trailer! This is not a new boss, this enemy is only available as part of the story. So at the moment it is a definite enemy.
Update 1.4 will reveal more details about the Order of the Abyss and the fate of the Traveler's long-lost twin. Travelers who continue their investigation with "Branch Keeper" Dainsleif will finally come face-to-face with the fearsome Void Herald and learn some amazing secrets about the world's first Ruin Warden in Storm Dread Lair.
New pet Yandola
The pet will change the character's elemental skill to another - "Soap Bubble". This skill will be able to smash all kinds of aquatic creatures for rewards and achievements.
The pet is planned only for the duration of the event and is unlikely to be permanent. When exactly it will be released and what kind of event is a mystery, but the pet itself is mini oceanid.
