Elden Ring Update 1.07 - Some adjustments to the balance of PvP, magic, etc.

Some massive changes have come in Elden Ring this morning with patch 1.07. While there have been a few adjustments across the board, perhaps the biggest one is the individual PvP scaling. These changes will only affect PvP and will not change single-player or co-op gameplay.

This update also brought a lot of changes to spells, skills, spells and weapons. The idea behind these Elden Ring changes was to increase versatility and potentially open up new build options for players.

Fans of Elden Ring can look forward to many fans of various abilities. However, there have been some notable nerfs such as Rotten Breath/Ekzyke's Decay, Shield Crash and Seppuku.

PvP Exclusive balance settings

  • Increased attack stamina in PvP for all attacks against guarded enemies, except for ranged weapons.
  • Improved balanced damage in PvP for normal attack of any weapon, except for skills and ranged weapons.
  • With a few exceptions, Ashes of War's PvP power has been reduced across the board.
  • Reduced the power of the following spells in PvP:
  • Dragonfire / Agil's Flame / Glintstone's Breath / Smarag's Breath / Rotten Breath / Exixes Decay / Dragonling / Borealis Mist / Unbearable Madness

General balance adjustments in Elden Ring

  • Increased balanced damage when using two-handed normal attacks.
  • Increased the speed of some Colossal Sword attacks.
  • The speed and hit detection of Colossal Sword crouch and rolling attacks have been reduced.
  • Increased the speed of some colossal weapon attacks.
  • Reduced the cooldown of colossal swords and colossal weapons, with the exception of jumping attacks, dual-wielding attacks, and riding attacks.
  • Increased balanced damage for hammers, large hammers, and some colossal weapons.
  • Increased defensive penetration for the following weapons:
  • Celebrator's Sickle / Knox's Sword / Sothel / Sothel's Eclipse / Sothel's Vulgar Militia / Scythe / Grave Scythe / Halo Scythe / Winged Scythe
  • The poise rating of some attacks has been increased for the following weapons:
  • Greatswords / Colossal swords / Curved greatswords / Greataxes / Greathammers / Greatspears / Halberds
  • With a few exceptions, the balance of all armor has been increased.
  • The effects of Great Shield Talisman and Hammer Talisman have been increased.
  • Some of the effects of the Spellscholar Shield, Barricade Shield skill, and Shield Grease Element have been adjusted as follows.
  • The effect on shields with a low defense boost has been adjusted upwards.
  • The effect on high defense buff shields has been adjusted downwards.
  • The protection strength of the Fingerprint Stone Shield has been reduced.
  • Reduced the status buildup performed by dual wield weapons.

  • Glintstone Galbble / Shard Spiral: Increased attack power.
  • Lightning Spear / Flame Sling: Increased attack power when charging.
  • Rejection / Wrath of Gold / Black Flame: Increased offensive ability endurance against guarded enemies.
  • Crystal Splash / Triple Rings of Light: Increased casting speed.
  • Killer Approach / Law of Causality: Increased effect time.
  • Glintstone Icecrag / Ice Mist / Frozen Weapon: Increased accumulation of frostbite status.
  • Poison Mist / Poison Weaponry: Increased accumulation of poisonous status.

  • Aspects of the Crucible: Tail / Aspects of the Crucible: Horn / Lightning Spear of the Ancient Dragons / Lightning Spear of Fortissax / Flames Falling on them: Reduced FP consumption and increased offensive ability endurance against guarded enemies.
  • Glintstone Cometshard / Comet / Khaima Cannon / Carian Sword: Reduced FP consumption, increased attack power and attack stamina against guarded enemies.
  • Rancorcall / Ancient Malice of Death: Reduced FP consumption and extended lifespan of all vindictive spirits.
  • Briards of Sin / Briards of Punishment: Decreased FP consumption and increased blood loss buildup on enemies, increased casting speed.
  • Jaime's Hammer: Reduced FP and stamina consumption, increased the stamina of the offensive ability against guards and the power of the hammer part of the attack.
  • Break the Earth: Reduced FP consumption, increased poise and offensive ability endurance against guards. Increased certain parts of the spell's hitbox and reduced the cooldown.
  • Stone blaster: Reduced FP consumption, increased poise and offensive ability endurance against guards. Increased certain parts of the spell's hitbox.
  • Starlight: Decreased consumption of FP and increased duration of effect.
  • Ruin Stars: Reduced FP consumption and stamina. Increased charging power.
  • The foundation of the "Star Rain": Reduced FP consumption and stamina. Reduced time to damage. Expanded star rain range.
  • Magic Clintblade: Increased level of poise, attack power and stamina against guarded enemies when charged.
  • Karian Piercer: Reduced FP consumption, increased attack power and stamina against guarded enemies. Reduced cooldown.
  • Moonblade of Adula: Reduced FP consumption and increased offensive stamina, as well as creating a frostbite status against guarded enemies with the strike part of the sword.
  • Gelmir's Fury: Reduced FP power consumption and increased attack power. Increased casting speed and reduced cooldown. Adjusted the direction of lava projectiles to make it easier to hit enemies located in front of the spell. The damage dealt by the first part of the spell has increased, and the ability to stagger enemies has increased significantly.
  • Ice Storm Zamor: Increased attack power and increased frostbite status. Increased casting speed and reduced cooldown.
  • Shattering Crystal: Reduced FP consumption and stamina. Increased balanced damage and offensive ability stamina against guarding enemies. Increased charging power. Increased casting speed.
  • Crystal release: Decreased FP consumption, increased poise and offensive ability endurance against guarded enemies. Increased casting speed and reduced cooldown. Increased attack range. Adjusted the timing of the increase in poise during activation.
  • Oracle Bubbles: Now it can be used while moving. Optimized attack range and increased attack power when charging. Increased the time it takes for the bubble to burst when not charged. Hitbox damage has been adjusted to be more against players. Reduced the number of projectiles that can spawn at the same time.
  • Large oracle bubble: Now it can be used while moving. Increased attack power. Improved tracking performance. Increased offensive ability endurance against guarded enemies.
  • Explosive Ghostflame: Increased attack power and attack power endurance against guarding enemies. An increased state of frostbite when increased by an explosion. Slightly increased the range of the residual flame, reduced the time for detecting damage.
  • Shin Challenge: Reduced FP power consumption and increased attack power. Increased casting speed, reduced recovery time.
  • Discus of the Light: Reduced FP consumption and stamina. Increased the range, speed and duration of the halo. Increased casting speed.
  • Rings of Radagon's Light: Reduced FP consumption and cooldown.
  • Frozen Lightning Spear: Decreased FP intake and increased frostbite.
  • Flame of the Fallen God: Reduced FP consumption, increased offensive ability endurance against guarded enemies. Increased attack power when charging. Reduced time to detect residual fire damage.
  • Whirlwind, oh flame!: Reduced consumption of FP. Increased offensive ability endurance against guarding enemies. Increased ability to stagger enemies.
  • Burn, O flame! Reduced consumption of FP. Reduced the time it takes to generate a pillar of fire.
  • Combing the Black Flame: Increased offensive ability endurance against guarding enemies and increased balanced damage when charged.
  • Noble Presence: Increased stamina consumption and increased attack power stamina against guarded enemies. Reduced recovery time.
  • Beast Claw: Increased shockwave range.
  • Beast Claw Gurranka: Added a hitbox to the first part of the spell. Increased attack power when charging.
  • Gurrank Stone: Reduced stamina consumption. Increased attack power and attack power endurance against guarding enemies. Expanded projectile impact area.
  • Scarlet Eonia: Reduced consumption of FP. Increased attack power, poise, and attack power endurance against guarding enemies. Increased the range of the amphibious strike and reduced its cooldown. Adjusted the timing of the increase in poise during activation.
  • Furious Explosion: Increased level of poise and attack power when charging.
  • Howl of Shabriri: The duration of the effect has been increased, which increases attack power and reduces defensive power.
  • Inevitable Madness: Reduced FP consumption and stamina. Reduced recovery time.
  • Increased capture range.
  • Dragon Claw: Reduced consumption of FP. Increased offensive ability endurance against guarding enemies. Improved directional control.
  • Dragon Meow: Reduced consumption of FP. Increased offensive ability endurance against guarding enemies. The hitbox around the dragon's neck area has been increased to make it easier to hit enemies at close range.

Up and down adjustments

  • Black blade: Reduced stamina consumption. Improved turning performance and reduced recovery time. The sword and wave attack have been changed so that they strike at the same time. The attack power, stamina and poise of each part have been reduced. Reduced the number of times the wave part hits large enemies.
  • Animal sling: Reduced randomness of stone fragments scatter. Increased offensive ability endurance against guarding enemies. Decreased between two hits and adjusted detection so that two hits are always at close range. Decreased balance.

  • Wild Strikes / Spinning Strikes: Reduced the time between various actions and activation of skills. Slightly increased attack power.
  • Ground Slam / Golden Slam / Airdtree Slam: Decreased the time between using the skill and being able to ride. Increased attack power.
  • Stamp (Cut Up) / Stamp (Reveal): Reduced the delay between the end of various actions (such as using items or attack animations) and being able to perform the skill. Increased attack power. Reduces the time between the end of a skill and the execution of actions other than a strong attack.
  • Piercing thrust: Increased movement speed and attack power. Reduced the delay between the end of various actions (such as using items or attack animations) and being able to perform the skill. Reduced the time between the end of the skill and the ability to attack and roll.
  • Piercing Fang: Increased movement speed, attack power and poise. Reduced the delay between the end of various actions (such as using items or attack animations) and being able to perform the skill. Reduced the time between the end of the skill and the ability to attack and roll.
  • Spin slash: Increased enemy damage when used with the following weapons: Greatsword, Curved Greatsword, Twinblade, Greataxe, Spear, Greatspear, Halberd, and Reaper.
  • Charge Forward: Increased direction and speed control. Reduced the delay between the end of various actions (such as using items or attack animations) and being able to perform the skill.
  • Blood tax: Increased movement speed and attack power. Strengthening the effect of HP deprivation.
  • Reduced the delay between the end of various actions (such as using items or attack animations) and being able to perform the skill.
  • Repetitive pull: Increased movement speed. Reduced the delay between the end of various actions (such as using items or attack animations) and being able to perform the skill.
  • Giant Hunt: Increased balanced damage. Reduced the delay between the end of various actions (such as using items or attack animations) and being able to perform the skill.
  • Slash Loretta: Increased poise damage on first attack. Reduced the delay between the end of various actions (such as using items or attack animations) and being able to perform the skill.

  • Large oracle bubble: Increased the amount of time the large bubble stays in place. Improved tracking performance and large bubble range.
  • Viper Sting: Increased attack power and poison status buildup. Increased the duration of the poison effect and increased the damage dealt by the poison.
  • Moonlight Great Sword: Decreased stamina cost for strong and charged attacks. Added damage detection in the weapon part.
  • Woe of the Siluria: Increased movement speed, attack power, and poise during activation. Added damage detection in the weapon part. The projectile now penetrates enemies and some items when charging.
  • Reduvia's Bloodblade: Increased attack power. Added damage detection in the weapon part.
  • Glintstone Dart: Increased range, speed, and attack power of magical attacks. Magic attacks now penetrate enemies when they are not charged.
  • Stand "Night and Flame": Increased attack power. Attack direction can now be adjusted up and down when using a normal attack. Added damage detection in the weapon part.
  • Devastating Ghostfire: Increased attack duration, attack power, and effect balance, giving the weapon a magical attribute. Reduced the time between various actions and skill activation. Reducing the time between activating a skill and being able to perform actions.
  • Spear Summoning Ritual: Increased attack power. Reduced damage detection time.

  • Non-blocking blade: Reduced consumption of FP. Increased movement speed.
  • Loretta's Slash (Loretta's War Sickle War Ashes): Increased attack power. Increased first attack damage. Increased balanced damage.
  • Resurrection for corpses: Reduced consumption of FP. Increased movement speed, range and blade rotation speed. Added damage detection in the weapon part.
  • Ice Storm Zamor: Increased attack power. Increased attack power on the weapon part.
  • Subtlety of the dynasty: Improved directional control of the subsequent strong attack.
  • Death Flash: Increased the duration and attack power of the effect, giving the weapon a sacred attribute.
  • Magmatic Guillotine: Increased balanced damage and offensive power stamina against guarding enemies for the first attack.
  • Corpse Stacker: Slightly increased attack power.
  • Blood Blade Dance: Added damage detection right after the skill is activated.
  • Eater of Worlds: Increased balanced damage.
  • Family malice: Increased the range of vengeful spirits that stalk enemies.
  • Rosus' challenge: Increased movement speed.
  • Thunderstorm: Increased movement speed. Increased the duration and attack power of the effect, giving the weapon a lightning attribute.
  • Non-blocking blade: Increased attack power. Reducing the time between activating a skill and being able to perform actions.
  • Vortex of Ordovis: Increased attack power, movement speed and poise. Increased balance during the cast. Reduced the delay between the end of various actions (such as using items or attack animations) and being able to perform the skill.

Up and down adjustments

  • Barbarian Roar: Increased effect duration. The time between using a skill and performing various actions is reduced. Increased attack power when used with a Talon or Fist weapon during the effect. Reduced the strong attack power when used with a Twinblade weapon during the effect.

Downward adjustments

  • Shield Clash: Reduced the amount of status buildup when used with weapons that have status effects.
  • Seppuku: Increased damage dealt when activated. Reduced the bleeding status accumulation effect granted to weapons.
  • Blood Bun ritual: Reduced the range of the damage animation trigger on other players. Damage remains unchanged.

Bugs fixed

  • Added a process to remove War Ashes from weapons that normally cannot be combined with certain War Ashes.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented users from obtaining items such as Greater Runes, Crystal Tears, Cracked Pots, and Ritual Pots when the number of items in inventory and storage reached the maximum limit.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented users from obtaining Crystal Tear. If you fail to obtain a Crystal Tear, the item will be added to your inventory when moving in close proximity to where you were supposed to obtain it.
  • Adjusts the control of the player's character during certain damage animations.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented certain Spells from charging when casting them with a left-handed Sacred Seal in the air.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented a normal dash attack from being performed immediately after a jump landing while the weapon was two-handed.
  • Fixed an issue that caused various action inputs to be ignored when switching weapons while moving.
  • Fixed the description of the Colossal Sword's physical attack attribute.
  • Fixed an issue where the attack redirect time was tighter than expected for some Greataxes attacks.
  • Fixed an issue where the attack direction could not be changed when performing a charged attack with the Ruins Greatsword weapon.
  • Fixed an issue where the High Altitude Ax effect was not being applied to the Cry of Milos skill.
  • Fixed an issue where the effects of the Pitcher Warrior Shard and Alexander Shard were not being applied to Crozier's Conjuration Mastery.
  • Fixed an issue where the Roar Medallion's effect was not being applied to the War Ash Royal Roar.
  • Fixed an issue where the Viper Bite skill could inflict poison instead of deadly poison.
  • Fixed an issue where the range of one of the three gems was longer than expected when throwing Spellrock Sling with the left staff.
  • Fixed an issue where the cooldown after casting Beast Claw could not be reduced by magic or spells.
  • Fixed an issue where attacking an enemy that cannot be grabbed by Inescapable Frenzy would cause the attack to be deflected if the enemy was holding a shield.
  • Fixed an issue where HP or FP could be restored when changing equipment to certain types of armor under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed a bug that could result in death and cause the player to get stuck in some places.
  • Fixed some terrain bugs that allowed users to reach unexpected locations through certain procedures.
  • Fixed a bug due to which the rendering and collision detection of some maps were different than expected.
  • Fixed an issue where bolts fired from Hand Ballista weapons would not hit the block target when the game was running below a certain frame rate.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented online multiplayer from working properly on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions.
  • Several other performance improvements and bug fixes.
