Fortnite Update Removes Lightsabers But Adds New Bug
Epic Games have released a new patch for their popular Fortnite title that ends the Winterfest and Star Wars events that have been running throughout the holiday slot, but it looks like the patch has caused an annoying issue for those who have been playing the game.
During the Christmas period, Fortnite players were offered a host of events, challenges, and rewards so they could get back into the game during the holidays and get their hands on the Star Wars-themed cosmetics available to those who entered the Winterfest competitions. Also during this period, lightsabers from the legendary franchise of the debut film were scattered all over the island of Fortnite. Star Wars. skywalker, so that players can wield them as if they were Jedi themselves.
On January 7, Epic Games released an update that signaled the end of these events, however, as soon as it went live, Fortnite fans were met with a strange bug that left those who completed the challenges wondering if they had wasted their time.
While brandishing a lightsaber in Fortnite sounds like a great idea, many players quickly became frustrated with the weapon. Popular streamer Tyler'Ninja' Blevins and many others on social media called on the game's developers to take them down, calling them "broken" and "in need of a nerf".
Finally, Epic Games pulled them out of the game on January 7th, which means players won't have to worry about hearing the ominous weapon rumble again.

While the removal of lightsabers means players will no longer encounter teleporting opponents due to errors, looks like the end of the event caused another annoying bug. In a post uploaded to Reddit shortly after the release of the fix, fans of the game began complaining that the Star Wars challenge objectives they had completed were completely missing from the game.
These challenges allowed players to earn special cosmetic awards from the movie franchise, but it appears that despite many completing them, they are no longer viewable on the challenge screen, prompting many to wonder if their progress has been lost forever.
Anyone who earned cosmetics during the event need not worry about them disappearing, as they remain in stock and will be available for use. However, for those achievement hunters who love to tick off, it's hard to see all their hard work gone, especially once you've earned 100% completion in Star Wars challenges.
Epic Games , fortunately, were assured, confirming that they are aware of this and are working on a fix.
We're aware of an issue involving players' Star Wars Legacy entries having disappeared. We are working on a fix.

Maybe we'll see it in the next bug fix, or they can wait to include it in the game's upcoming main patch. There is currently no official release date for an update or fix for the issue.
